Ubisoft might be taking their time with the third installment in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, but the publisher has revealed that it does have some very definite ideas about what’s next for series.
As Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin recently told Gamerzines, Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a new hero and a new setting, as has been the case with the previous two iterations in the series. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of course continues and concludes the story of Assassin’s Creed II star Ezio Auditore, and will by Ubisoft's own admission be the last AC game for at least two years.

If u wnaa add serious templar control u could make it o russia with the orthadox church. this will add full supremesy to templar power exerting all control and u as an assassin fitin to loosen it

no this has to b someplace civilized, not too may trees and good economy, england in its imperial age would be cool. dont go to the point of tanks or machince guns or too futuristic. Fable 3 did tht and it ruind the whole view. Not sayin i hate fable im a big fan too. But keep it consentrated with the blades. I like the hand to hand actions. dnt give the assassin a pistol or anythin
Also i think it be cool if it was on england wen henry took control of church and becomes ruler of templar order. That would b cool. Making the objective the king of england will make the assassin seem more badass and ruthless. safrenving protestants and making them part of the brotherhood is cool too.
Another one is france. Targeting napolion in his conquest for europe. Goin to paris and montreal and all the festivities. Plus french ppl cmplain would be funny. And french dialog. U can make a new cool french style clothes. idk how that will go classic white and hoody is coo and original. Make this more mystyrious. make us search and figure out ur targets like the first one but keep alot of side quest and repressd memories as well. France would be a ral cool place for an intrestin love stories between our mystery character and mystery girlfrend. Which also makes me think of him startin as an urchin boy fighting the harsh life of the streets and seein him end up at the top of the classes.
Another place would be Germany in its industrial age. Itll add cool dialog to the story tho i am very faint with german history
And p.s dnt make this a trilogy like halo u cn go n forever and make it betr and excitin 3 is too soon as a dedicated assassins creed fan i cn tell u i will bu em and buy em for my frends.

I think it should be set out in medival russia. It would be great. Lots of traveling. They can also make the soldiers look more aggressive. like as if they arent afraid to die. Downside is tht most of Russia is barren

i also reallllyy want to see more dealing with subject 16. they could really use that to make it much more interesting and have him show you whats been happening all along. id be beyond dissapointed if there was no puzzles or anything to solve with 16

i think they should use the animus a bit to revisit the ancient mayan civilization. desmond can follow an assassin through that time to find the locations of the temples. it might not be as fun as exploring france, but if it was in japan, it would just be a ninja game and not as much anything special. however, if they included the mayan civilization, the story line could really relate well and make sence, whereas itd be harder to do in france. i also think exploring all around would be fun, like exploring different civilizations around the mayan area would be very interesting. (itd be set up like ac1 or ac2 how you can go to different nearby cities).

everyone who said the new world America i believe is correct. First off the assassins creed story starting with altair is so full of masonic symbols and references its not funny. The prophecy of a higher knowledge, and a lost knowledge that man kind must find is the belief of masons or so i think i myself am not a mason so i cannot confirm these and if i were i doubt id be allowed to anyways. One must be enlightened in order to recieve such knowledge according to my research once again i am no expert. alot of the forbidden knowledge is a part of the unfinished pyramid being a map to its location that is taken straight from dan browns novel the lost symbol. Now back to assasins creed and more specifically the ending of brotherhood. sean the teams historian points out that the two symbols in the sky are only together in one place, has anyone looked at the back of a dollar bill lately? anyways i believe the birth of america is perfect for AC3 because it is common knowledge that most of our founding fathers where masons. If any of you have any interest in history you probably know that our capitol is full of masonic symbols and also huge ties with its inspirational city ROME, yes rome, in fact the original name for washington D.C. was New Rome. So now lets look at the game being in Washington D.C. in my opinion its perfect, the architecture matches that of rome, think of all the monuments, the Capitol, the White House, the Washington memorial obelisk, the lincoln memorial, the Jefferson Memorial Pantheon anyone? D.C. is full of mystery and symbols. take a couple minutes one day and search washingtons secret symbols even better read the lost symbol by Dan Brown. for anyone who thinks the city wouldnt work for the parkour style jumping think about what Washington D.C. would have looked like when it was being built? A bunch of huge stone buildings with wooden scaffolding all over them perfect for jumping and grabbing. Lastly we all know about the prophecy of 2012, most people think it means the end of the world but the translation of the Mayan calender proclaims a great change in human life not the end of man, and idk about you but finding some lost almost magical knowledge that gives man a sixth sense would chandge human life in my opinion. Im not saying that that is what i believe will happen im just saying i think that is the story line and legend Ubisoft is trying to follow. When is assasins creed 3 supposed to come out? O ya two years after brotherhood which came out in november of 2010 so that would be about november of 2012 two months before december allowing us dedicated gamers to finish AC3 and discover the Ubisoft theory of 2012 tieing in perfectly with desmonds story and having to stop some cataclysmic event. Think about it.

I agree whole heartedly that Ac3 would take place in america. not that france or 1500 spain is a bad idea but look at it this way people. the Assassin's Creed trilogy so far has taken the place in the journey of Desmond and his Ancestry, with each successive ancestor being a good few generations past the other, so that rules out spain in the 1500's because the story of Ezio ends in 1507 when he kills Cesare. And with the ventures into the new world it does seem that America is the next logical choice particularly when one considers the underground activities that the templar have taken and the names that they have adopted throughout the centuries (Templar, Illuminati, freemasons, etc.). perhaps memories during the civil war, seeing as it ties into 16's memories as shown with the glyphs in AC2 and only enhances the relationship that developed between him and desmond in brotherhood. as for the parkour sequences the french region of new orleans sounds like a good area particularly in civil war times. but that's just my idea

since Desmond's ethnic make-up is rather ambiguous and piece of Eden existed all around the world maybe Desmond can have a Japanese ancestor with his own unique assassin story, make him a badass ninja

It should be set in London AND America, at the beginning of the revolutionary War! The assassin, whoever he or she is, would be in England at various famous cities fighting against the government, then they would come to America and fight with the revolutionists! or the other way aroung, i'm just brainstorming. BUT IT MAKES SENSE!

I think it'd be really cool for AC3 if you could visit the prime moments in the lives of the best assassin's like the ones in the sanctuary under the Villa Auditore.

I agree with the next game taking place in Japan but if a female hero could come into play it would make character development that much better. Women had a place during those times and to have a defient female assassin would make for a great character story. Religously it could work and Japan would make for a great playground with the free running. Also take into consideration hiding places which are very helpful and important. I also think it would be a great chance to have a bit of fun with different costum ideas for the hero, allies, and enemies. Not to mention the detailed work you can do with scenery of Japan would be breath taking.

I think all signs point to Washington, D.C. in its early days. I've also heard talk about Soviet Russia. Really, we just need to look at any massive revolution in the last 500 years and consider the Masonic/Templar mythologies that surround them. So, again, D.C. is ripe to host one of these games, as is Soviet Russia, especially during the early days of the Bolshevik Revolution. I think Paris during the French Revolution would be very fitting, as would be New York City during the Industrial Revolution. I guarantee they won't be going for Spain under Ferdinand and Isabella, as that would coincide with Ezio's story. Even setting it a hundred years later cuts it too close aesthetically to AC2 and Brotherhood.
