Ubisoft might be taking their time with the third installment in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, but the publisher has revealed that it does have some very definite ideas about what’s next for series.
As Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin recently told Gamerzines, Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a new hero and a new setting, as has been the case with the previous two iterations in the series. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of course continues and concludes the story of Assassin’s Creed II star Ezio Auditore, and will by Ubisoft's own admission be the last AC game for at least two years.

i think eventually it should take place with Desmond i mean it seems like that would make sense. they talk about stopping the Templars occasionally when your out of the animus. its a good way to end the series, but that better not be for a while.

Colonial America isn't that bad. Places like Pennsylvania, Boston, and New York aren't bad. The thing is it wasn't til the mid to late 1800s that those places got huge. I believe there will be two maybe three more main assassins creed games. I think the next game should be in Greece as someone said, then France, And then New York to end the series. The last game should be 3/4 in the 1800s traveling through the 1900s. The end of the game should end in modern New York fighting off the main enemy

yes please have either ancient rome (ceasers era possibly working with brutus in the assassination) or chicago/new york 1940-50's mafia era

I think that a modern setting of this game with all the modern weapons will ruin its unique atmosphere. I hadn't been hooked on a game like this since my teen years! I do hope AC 3 will not be a disappointment :( And I do hope it will be really a large game, including several big cities, Europe has a good architecture for it. How about the cities that the assassin recruits went to missions / contracts at in ACB ? The unique thing about this game is its engaging and well told story line, the atmosphere of the previous centuries and buildings and streeets... apart form the graphics! :) Oh, yes, and the political intrugues that are quite straight forward that are mentioned in the glyph puzzles.. excellent job, quite provokative and inspiring too! Keep up the good work on it Ubisoft ! :)) Ezio has more of his story to tell ! The new storyline may start with him and continue with the female assassin, why not? :)

How abour Russia during the rule of the royal family? You could have rasputin as a templar and its so close to japan it opens up a lot of different cultural missions. although signs point to france with the phrygian cap and the fact that enzio spoke french and said "girls at the brother were sometimes french" means he's been dumping baby batter in french ovens. So I could see that. but for some reason I just think russia would be awesome

I think that during the American Revolution or French/Indian War would be a great idea. I mean think about it Templars and Assassins founding the Greatest Nation. It would be Epic. You could throw a twist in it saying templars made the declaration of independence or vice versa.. it would be a great story line!!

I think a great timeline would be during ancient greece. The time when greek mythology existed, so it can talk more about the greek gods like minerva, jupiter, saturn, etc(the end of ac2). It can maybe even tell us how the beginnig of the human race started!. According to the franchise, the piece of eden rlate to the ancient greek gods. How cool would that be! It may change the whole view of the game but it would at least make sense.

Shaun hints where they are planning to set it. at the end he says something about the Phrygian Cap And The Masonic Eye. these symbols are known in 2 places and France and the U.S. probably going to be set around the revolution era. my speculation is on America. cause they will need someone to invent for the character and what better person than Ben Franklin?

Imma say in New York during the American revolution. time period is at a good pregression, it is a staple moment of conflict in history, and at the end of ACB Shaun mentions the Phrygian Cap (a symbol of freedom and chase for liberty) and the Masonic Eye, as seen on the U.S. dollar. All signs are pointing it out.

I'm not sure where would be a great setting but i'm wondering how the evasion system will be done because just sitting on a bench jumping in a pile of hay or standing in a crowd that looks nothing like you maskes no sense to me, also it's weird that the guards don't have very good peripherals. like why would they not see my hands moving just below them or my robes off the side of as building right in front of them.

you guys are all missing the point i looked up some blogs there are more profesional blogs that say ezio was a real person then fake so if they change the story line it will screw everything up regardless of how cool it sounds

Has anyone thought about the American Revolution? I mean with all the mentions of the Freemasons and Sean Hastings' mentions of the Masonic Eyes and stuff like that I would think the A.R. would be likely. Plus, thatd be sooo kick ass!
