Ubisoft might be taking their time with the third installment in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, but the publisher has revealed that it does have some very definite ideas about what’s next for series.
As Ubisoft associate producer Jean-Francois Boivin recently told Gamerzines, Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a new hero and a new setting, as has been the case with the previous two iterations in the series. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of course continues and concludes the story of Assassin’s Creed II star Ezio Auditore, and will by Ubisoft's own admission be the last AC game for at least two years.

i'd like to see, maybe a WWII setting around major city's in europe: Berlin, Paris. maybe a girl for a change.

After playing AC 1 and 2 I think this story will take place with Desmond during his time in 2013... Although i hope its not like guns and shooting because it will kill the AC way. I really find it difficult with what Ubisoft has to bring and how they'll make it fit... Goodluck!!! best Games ever

i would like to see it in Late Rome or when Ceasar was ruling because of the conspicarcy, sorry cant spell, with him dying. but i would also like to see it done with something like a Spanish background to it. IDC, as long as it is a good game, im fine with it.

This just came to me out of the blue but i think it would be pretty cool if we played as a secret force Hitler used in WWII. They could even play around with it a bit so that he might have won the war.

I would think American Revolution, so it would show how Desmond's ancestors came to america or something. Maybe even during the great depression

japan to me would be i wonderful idea. the weapons of a ninja are AWESOME. but really i dont care where ac3 is as long as its not the last assasins creed game. this series should be just like the final fantesy series. keeps going and going.

The Templar order was created in 1129 in the Holy Lands. So it is difficult to imagine that AC3 will take place before this. Also, the AC series is very dependant on melee wepons fighting. If they put the story in an era which automatic weapons were used, AC3 would be little more than a shooter. So, it is doubtful the game will take plave after...say...the 1860's.
With that said, there are only two dynamic settings to choose from. First, the American Revolution, but unfortunatly 18th century American cities were quite small and I dont think would make a very interesting AC game. The other option is the French Revolution, which would be perfect. Paris is huge and built up high. Guns are used, but many people still use swords and spears. Maximilien Robespierre would be a great villain and the hero could help Napoleon Bonaparte take power.

I would like to see the game set during the American Revolution. Problem with that is that if they were to set the game anywhere, the backgrounds will seem dull again compared with what Italy had going on. Perhaps Spain in the 1800s would work best of all. Or maybe someplace in England during the same time?

I don't know how they would work it out with the story, but feudal Japan would be amazing! What is more assassiany than a Ninja?!? Oh and ninja v. samurai, come on, that would be cool!

I would def say NYC...so many buildings to climb.
But in keeping in line with the series it would have to be very early on. A fully developed city wouldn't work.
