G4 And Capcom Team Up For Epic EVO 2010 Coverage

Virtual brawling fans, gird your loins (and go ahead and gird all your other delicate bits as well), because G4 is preparing to deliver unto you unprecedented access to the world-renowned fighting game competition, Evolution Championship Series 2010.

Starting at 9:00am PT on July 9, G4tv.com/EVO will stream 45 hours of continuous live coverage from Caesar’s Palace Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, during which time you’ll witness some of the most intense, wrist-breaking tournament matches you’ll likely ever see this side of some kind of wrist-breaking competition.

Elite virtual fighters from 20 countries, including last year’s EVO World Champion Daigo Umehara, will face off against each other in pixel-based combat in the following six titles: Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Melty Blood: Actress Again.

Once you’ve emerged from your G4/EVO-induced joy coma, you’ll want to tune into X-Play on July 20 at 6:30pm for "X-Play vs. Capcom: EVO 2010 World Fighting Finals," which will give you an all-access look at EVO's evolution, as well as explore the history of Capcom’s legendary fighting game canon.

The show will also include coverage of the Super Street Fighter IV world finals, complete with commentary from G4’s Adam Sessler and Capcom’s Seth Killian, and a brand new preview of the eagerly anticipated Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
