Clearly, there are more than a few gamers out there really pulling for the “NBA Jam coming to PS3/Xbox 360” rumors to be true. While I can’t speak for all of them, I’m guessing that most of these folks don’t own a Wii, but love the classic franchise, and simply want to play it. I totally get that. But I also have to agree with reader MrNelson92 who defended the idea of NBA Jam being a Wii exclusive.
"If the people want to see the Wii become a "viable console", then quit whining every time a good game doesn't come out for 360/PS3, and be glad the Wii actually gets something cool from someone that isn't Nintendo."
Amen, brother. And even though EA stands to make much more money by releasing the game on other platforms, I'm pulling for them not to. But that's just me. What do you think?

It should stay a wii exclusive. Other games that should stay exclusive that I wish weren't include MLB the show, heavy rain, and god of war. You know why? because I have a 360 and a wii and I don't have a ps3. If I had a ps3 I wouldn't care that those games were exclusive. That's how it works, if you want to play exclusive games you buy the system its exclusive for. You don't whine until you get your way. However, I see EA releasing this on the other systems bc EA is a business and they want money.

I would buy this game the hour of release but since it's a Wii exclusive I will never buy it...and neither will a lot of people I know.

See, your thinking of the games making the Wii a sub-par system is exactly the kind of thinking I'm talking about.
When people think of 3rd party Wii games, they think of shovelware waggle-fests aimed at small children. There are a few good 3rd party Wii games out there, but none are as recognizable as NBA Jam. If it gets released on other consoles, then no one will think twice at the Wii sales. But if they keep it exclcusive and it sells well, then it can be used as an example of a good 3rd party Wii game that appeals to everyone rather than the hardcore gamer.
Oh, and as for the motion controls, use can opt to use a standard controller (not sure if it's GCN or CC) if you desire.

All I can say is I think that it's bull that just because a game is a Wii exclusive that means its going to be a good game or a bad game. Furthermore I disagree with MrNelson92 and say that its the games themselves that make the Wii an unviable platform. I mean the motion controls will probably hurt more then helping anything. Its the games themselves that make a system. I mean think about it, if Halo or God of War ( two of XBOX and Playstations biggest breadwinners) had come out as Wii exclusives instead, just imagine where we would be now. SO back to the point at hand, if its a good game, release it on all platforms and let consumers decide for themselves what system they want it for. Then the game creators could make certain things or characters exclusive to certain systems (kind of like how they gave Darth Vador to the PS3 and Yoda to the XBOX360 in Soul Caliber). Besides, does anyone else remember when games were released on every platform, not all but Nintendo?

NBA Jam is one of those games that remind me of my childhood, so it's just a given that I'm going to get it...no matter how good, or bad, it is. I have a PS3 and a 360. My younger and older brother both own a Wii, so does my girlfriend, and so do my roommates, so its like owning all 3. That being said, It would really be nice to have it on another console and most of the people that I know that own the Wii have never heard of this game.

I definitely think this game can do much better as a multi-platformer. This game will do great no matter what but this is a game that you will want to play online with your friends and not at home by yourself or with your family. The Wii isn't known for online play and online play is the reason to get this game. And honestly, I want to use a controller and not a Wiimote while I am playing.

80 Million units sold makes it a "non-viable console"? I'm lost somewhere between the SHOVEL-Ware and Waggle controls. The business is about the dollar. I don't understand why EA even considered making NBA Jam an exclusive game.
The Nameless Monster
Kept it exclusive so people can whine.
MrNelson92
Wow, didn't really expect to get the reacharound, but it's good to see I'm not the only one that thinks this. If this, unfortunately, goes multiplatform, I will be getting it on the Wii because that was the system it was originally intended for, and I do support the "hardcore scene" of Wii games even though I own a PS3.
DragonLord1123
Keep Wii games Wii games. GoldenEye will be AWESOME. NBA Jam will be fun. The experience will not be the same on other platforms. Nintendo is still my favorite and shall be.
Spyro_Soul95
But the real reason i want it to stay a wii exclusive is because if this game does amazing i want credit to go to the wii, cause everytime a great game comes for the wii, xbox or ps3 owners want it too, like no more heroes.
Spyro_Soul95
Nintendo exclusives always sell more, NBA JAM came out on the SNES or something and it was amazing, thats like letting super mario galaxy be released on the xbox, it wont sell anything. Thats why Banjo Kazooie nuts n bolt swas crap, cause they switched a nintendo only franchise to another console. But i just hope they dont switch epic mickey to all 3 consoles.
TheSauceMan
not owning a Wii anymore, i too was pissed when first hearing about NBA Jam being a Wii-exclusive, but after playing it on the Wii and having more fun than I ever did in the arcade, I gotta admit that it really should stay on the Wii and would rather see it released on Playstation 3 once Move is released.
Ashley_Si
I think all Nintendo exclusives, past and present, no matter what should stay exclusive. It's not like the revers of the argument wouldn't be any worse. I don't want any exclusives from Microsoft or Sony on my Wii.
ZyloWolfBane
Forcing it to stay as a Wii exclusive is like asking for it to die and make no money, why would anyone consider it a good idea?
meh_siah
I didnt even realize this was a wii exclusive, this has xbox live arcade written all over it.
