I don't have an iPhone 4 (yet), but a hell of a lot of you do. Apple announced today iPhone 4 as sold 1.7 million during its first three days of sales. Had there been more phones around, however...
"This is the most successful product launch in Apple's history," said Apple's CEO Steve Jobs in the press releasing touting the launch numbers for the latest iPhone. "Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."
By comparison, it took 74 days for the original iPhone to reach a million units.
Lines for the iPhone 4 launch were reportedly long and frustrating, with early-morning line goers sometimes standing in line for more than nine hours to acquire Apple's newest mobile gadget. A white version of the iPhone 4 was scheduled to launch this month, but has been delayed to July.
The launch has also been plauged by issues with iPhone 4's antenna. Videos online show users affecting the signal if the antennas are blocked with fingers. Apple has said it will be addressed soon.
