Microsoft has partnered with car manufacturer Chevrolet to promote Microsoft’s motion-control technology Kinect and Chevy’s Volt electric car by including the Volt in the upcoming driving game Kinect Joy Ride.
Announced during the 2010 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, the partnership will place a commercial for the Volt on the Xbox 360 dashboard and on the Xbox website, and once people watch the ad, the car will be playable in the game.
"Kinect allows us to bring the excitement of the showroom to the living rooms of our customers,” said US vice president of Chevrolet marketing Jim Campbell. “It’s a way for us to replicate the experience of physically engaging with a product that is essential to the customer’s purchasing decision."
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the partnership will extend beyond Kinect and onto Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and Bing as well.

this could just be me but dose everyone notice how much adds are going up on the dashboard? im ok with movies and games but cars and sprint adds is going to far. I think they should make an add Chanel and put them there not all over the place.

Because they should, and they were. Joy Ride was going to be free. Now it's 60$...

Why do all the Kinetic games all look like nitch games and should be free when you buy kinetic

I think we should have gotten joyride in the first quarter and it should have been free like Microsoft said last E3. NATAL and yes I said NATAL is not going interest the CORE gamer like me.

Not the best way to promote new hardware as if we already had our share of in-game advertising as is.
My feelings towards this new peripheral is for the most part mixed but there is much room for opportunity. Even if it is not the most original it is promising of things to come in the future if done right.
