E3 2010: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Screensshots

It was inevitable. We all expected it--well most. A new Zelda title is in the midst and despite the controversy--it seems to be yet another promising release in the long existence and popular series.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has been the talk of the town--from the rather embarrassing game demonstration Nintendo gave at their E3 2010 press conference, to the graphics that pay homage to both a mixture of Twilight Princess's realistic features and The Wind Waker's cartoon models.

Regardless of the dismay, the line wrapped around the Nintendo booth as gamers eagerly waited to play the game with over 20 stations dedicated to the demo. At the end of the day, Nintendo never disappoints with Zelda titles, so we all have to sit back, relax, and wait for the updated information for Hyrule.

Take a closer look at The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword unique design approach.

You know, as a great Zelda fan, as the rest of you are since you put time into this article, I really hope good things come of this game.. Don't be upset, but I'm a doubter towards it. When I played the all of the originals, I only felt happy throughout the entire gaming experience (except for Zelda 2), but it feels like this one isn't on the same boat as the other Titles..feels like somethings off. I want references of the other links for a chance! Something! anything! that can be related to the other Zelda Games that can strengthen that bond!

Does anyone else think this game is going to have air travel? I mean its called skyward sword and he dived off a cliff in the trailer. They have a consistent method of travel in these titles and I have a feeling that's what this one is going for, if it does end up having it, that will be *#$%ing awesome.

as far as Zelda goes Nintendo knows what they are doing. This game is going to be great regardless of the art direction. i cant wait to play this game

I would of been happy with TP's style then this one. Something about the more realistic ones had a eerie feel to it. I guess all i can do is cross my fingers and hope they change the art style for the next Zelda

From what ive been reading and seeing it seems like the game doesnt yet have 1:1 sword movement. I really hope they are able to make it 1:1 before the game releases, because that would be awesome. Also, a lefty mode would be great. Zelda has always been one of my favorite franchises, and this game has me nervously excited; it could be another great zelda game, but i also am worried this may become to Zelda what Super Mario Sunshine was to the 3D platforming Mario franchise

I know some people will get mad at me for asking this, but how different will this Zelda game be from past titles? I have heard that since Ocarina of Time, Miyamoto has made clones of the subsequent games. I grew up playing Nintendo games, but I have seen a lack of innovation lately.

I want your honest opinions please; do not just thumb me down.

    Thanks

I don't understand the logic behind their minds when coming up with new ideas for Zelda titles. "Oh, lets make the game look LESS real!" Who in their right mind would want a more 'cartooony' version of Twilight Princess? And the control tweaking.... WHY!?! I think the Zelda developers will learn from the old saying: DON'T TRY TO FIX, WHAT ISN'T BROKEN!

The game's unique design really is quite lovely. I hope Nintendo can iron out some of the control kinks but no matter what I'll still get the game. No Zelda title has ever disappointed me and I doubt Skyward Sword will be a dud come its release.
