At its E3 press conference this morning, Nintendo revealed a new Zelda game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It will be released in 2011.
The game uses WiiMotion Plus to give players one-to-one control over Link's sword and shield. Graphically, the gameplay shown at E3 will look very familliar to fans of the series. No huge stylistic changes were made to the look of the game. Judging from the on-stage demo, the focus here is on the gameplay not so much the look.
New items werr shown off. The first: A beetle that flies. It seems to work a little like a remote control plane in the game. You fly it around, and can pick up items on the fly. Also: A whip, which looks like a lot of fun with the WiiMotion plus. Seems very responsive to the controls.

I though Zelda:TP was a down grade to work with the GCN and the Wii. This version looks the same. IMHO this is not a day one purchase for me.
Darksiders set level that Zelda neede to rise to in terms of action and graphics. I'm sure it will be fun and have that magic, but this just looks like a step backwards if you are used to the HD graphics and extreme action that can be created and delivered on other platforms.
Then again it could be G4's crapy SD signal on my HD TV. When are they going to have an HD channel on DirecTV!?

For those who are only interested in great graphics, blood and guts, sex themes and gaming story lines that never really change to much, then Nintendo is not the place for you. Many true gamers still go back and play Classic, SNES, N64, GameCube, Gameboy, GBA, and DS games not because of their graphics but because of their timeless story lines. If you are a long time player of the Zelda series along with Metroid, Mario Bro. Games, DK, Star Fox and the likes, then you will appreciate games that are great stories followed by decent graphics. Some gamers like it the other way. I was a big fan of the original PS but didn't see a reason to advance to PS2 for graphics alone. When the day comes that Sony offers truly fun and original games(that aren't Nintendo knock-offs) then I'll get a PS? For those of you who claim to be long time Zelda fans, you should appreciate the always changing but very similar land of Hyrule. I once again am very excited for another great adventure with Link.

It is a demo afterall and the game won't be released until most likely holiday season next year. I have faith in Miyamoto it'll be up to par by release. That aside, so far I feel Nintendo's presentation was better than Microsoft's. A whole slew of shooters again for Microsoft and Natal wasn't all that impressive in my opinion. Rating Microsoft's presentation a 7 and Nintendo's an 8.

I thought it looked impressive don't really understand the hate.Well then again I'm not some sinnacle manchild or little kid that thinks hes an adult by playing your typicle brown pastey graphic shooter.I'm more into games that are games as opposed to 10 hr movies.Zelda should be more in tone with having stylized graphics exploritive gameplay with some puzzle elements and not be a photo real drama quest with bad voice overs. To the so called HARDCORE LOL... please your an epic fail!

I have chills. I love it they are it has the look of LoZOoT and I love the new way to control the game and the new weapons are so cool think the bug will play a big part in the game not only using it but seeing the big world that they have set up the only way i could be happier is if the released OoT but I got Golden Eye. So did Nintendo drop the bomb yes the nuke of gaming and I think they splattered competition

The game looked really good. Remember the game is still a year away from release and today was only a demo. Also remember that games that're in demo stage aren't the finished product. If they were, they wouldn't be released a year from now. People have ben asking for a new Zelda and Nintendo has delivered. Just appreciate it.

the graphics look the same to me ... u cant tell until it hits YOUR TV so thats not a concern i would hope ... but at the same time i do agree that its reminds me of twilight princess ... but then again isnt there a reason that zelda has been around since the age of the dinosaurs ?

God that game didn't even look as good as Twilight Princess. Am I the only one who noticed a downgrade in the graphics. I REALLY hope they let me use the classic controller in fear of "Wireless Interferance"

I agree with Logicjones. You nerds sound like a bunch of ungrateful whining babies!! Every single video or announcement, has been met with nothing but criticism and bad jokes by a bunch of losers who just sit around their computer, locked on E3, just to bag on everything that's shown. Half of you guys probably can't even afford the new stuff that's been shown. Or have to wait for your birthdays and Christmas, hoping mommy or daddy would buy it. Until you can build a device better than the Kinect, 3DS, or anything else that's been shown so far...Please shut up, and leave the comment page for people who actually are intersted in what they're watching.

The Gaming Community Are Stupid You sound like a whole bunch of Ungrateful Spoiled Nerds....Do you think you could stop downing everything at E3 until you actually Play them. Or Touch The New 360 or Play the New 3Ds or Play the New Zelda....Come on You get up and Make us a Video Game worth Playing

This would be great using Move. Truly is a shame........

Hmm, I personally don't give a crud about the graphics, I care about the gameplay. I'm getting really tired of crummy 360 and PS3 games with super awesome realistic graphics and blood spatters but screw-all story and gameplay, so another Zelda game is just what I need. It looks pretty good to me.

Honestly, I'm very excited for this game. It looks really good and i'm egar to see how it plays. I can't wait for next year when it comes out. The graphics look amazing. The interference with the "wifi" problem was annoying but i'm pretty sure that it wasn't the game. It is not toal garbage and i'm pretty sure that it's another Zelda title dominate the whole genre.

ya i think it was just that technical error or sabotage by microsoft

I have followed Zelda since the beginning and I was disappointing by this demo. The graphics were brighter than Twilight Princess which could be good a bad depending on how you look at it, and the controls looked sketchy. Even though the sword moved with the Wiimotion+ you have to do predefined swings (horizontal, vertical, Diagonal ect.) what is the point when you still have to swing in those particular directions.
I don't want a brand new Zelda, I just want one pumped up with graphics that takes a darker tone on the game series.
