It's looking like rappers will be heavily represented in Gears of War 3. Last week, we learned that O.G. Ice-T says he's providing a voice for the game, and this morning we learn that rapper Drake is confirmed as voice talent in the game. Maybe most importantly to gamers: Drake will be doing the voice for Jace Stratton, a new playable character in the upcoming finale to the celebrated Gears saga.
Drake, described as "the fastest rising superstar in today’s hip-hop music scene" also has a new album, Thank Me Later, coming out on June 14. How convenient.
“Jace is a central character in the comic books, so he was an obvious choice as a character we wanted to bring into the third game,” said Epic Executive Producer Rod Fergusson. “When we began casting for the role, ‘So Far Gone’ had just released and Drake’s combination of heart and grit was just what we were looking for. Rather than search for somebody who sounded like him, it was clear that we should approach him directly… fortunately he turned out to be a huge fan.”
“When Epic came to me with the role, I couldn’t pass it up,” said Drake. “They’ve created an amazing character in Jace, and I’m looking forward to my tour in Delta Squad.”

Can you say Cole Rap (Remix)??? lol. Seriously this is a good move. Even if you dont like Drake as a musical artist you can't deny his acting experience. I think he'll do a great job.

I really like how Gears is trying to always trying to push the envelope when it comes to their games from trying new types of gameplay to introducing new characters to keep story moving forward..I like this choice..Doesnt hurt that Drake is a really good up and coming rapper...Win...Win...

First of all, I can't wait for this game. Second, at least this guy has some acting experience. I think he'll do an alright job. At least they didn't put that tool Soulja Boy in the game...yet.

Drake is beast first of all (check his mixtapes) 2nd off he has acting experence so dont write him off yet and i cant wait for this game (besides the fact drake is in it) lol
