Atlus and Frozenbyte were coy about their mysterious 2011 downloadable title, even though Frozenbyte has indicated a desire to develop a Trine sequel in the past. Luckily, it's a mystery no more, as Frozenbyte and Atlus have confirmed Trine 2 is in development and will be at E3.
Unfortunately, that's about all we know regarding Trine 2.
The original Trine was a wonderful fantasy platformer that had players switching between three distinct characters with unique abilities. It was possible to finish the entire game with a single character, but the real joy of Trine was swapping between them to solve the game's puzzles.

this is great news the first one was amazing! and one of the most overlooked games in recent memory. but that's probably because it was only on PSN...at least they came out with a demo for it though unlike a lot of other games.

Awesome. I loved the look and feel of the first. Can't wait to see what they have planned this time.

Hooray!!! Trine was great, I can't wait to see what they do with a sequel! It would be awesome if you got to choose your party between a base of 6 or 7 characters. That way, you still have your three base characters, but you get to choose them for your play-style! I guess we'll see next week...
