The pre-E3 announcements are coming fast and hard, with Sony confirming the next installment in the MotorStorm franchise, MotorStorm Apocalypse. Get ready San Francisco, you're in trouble.
Evolution Studios game director Matt Southern revealed the game on the PlayStation Blog.
Split/Second raised eyebrows by letting players influence the massive amount of destruction around them. MotorStorm Apocalypse also deals in environmental disasters, though the player doesn't have a direct impact on when, where or how they happen. You're at the mercy of one unhappy Mother Nature, and that's how MotorStorm Apocalypse incorporates the series' trademark multi-route tracks.
It looks like Evolution Studios is bringing plenty to the table with MotorStorm Apocalypse, including 16-player online multiplayer that can be mixed with four-player split-screen, a "massive" amount of vehicle customization including "perks" to alter attributes, an overhaul of the in-game rankings and rewards, persistent matchmaking, and a "game mode" creator to turns players into game designers.
No release date for MotorStorm Apocalypse has been specified.
Phew. What else could Sony have up their sleeve for E3?
