The ever-teasing folks over at Valve have decided to try out delivering good news for a change by revealing that their stylish and quirky shooter Team Fortress 2 will be available for Mac today.
The game’s official blog teased the announcement yesterday, saying:
"Big things are happening RIGHT NOW at Valve. Things involving cultivated tree-fruit. BIG things. Things that rhyme with 'grapple.' Things that rhyme with 'Speem Gortress zmavailable on the Babac.'"
The game hasn't gone live on Steam yet, but the purchase section is viewable, as is the $20 price tag.
Valve officially launched its digital distribution service Steam for Mac last month, and have been rolling out games ever since. One game it won't be rolling out soon, however, is the highly anticipated sequel Portal 2, which Valve announced yesterday will now be released in 2011.

Cross platform multilayer. Thats awesome, think that will ever happen with the ps3 and xbox? Maybe when Valve finally gets off their buts and starts making games for the ps3?

Am I the only one that noticed the Engineer's new shotgun in the video?

Lol, I emailed this story to them earlier! They probably had knowledge of it before, but this was just too ironic not to comment on that I had emailed the link to him earlier =D

Today's (predicted) patch notes:
Engineer update is now live!
- Mac users can now play on Mac OS
- Mac users can wear iPod headphones as a hat anytime
- Full PowerGlove support as seen in engineer teaser
- Mac engineers can build sentry turrets from Portal
- Mac engineers can also build a dispenser or PC sentry attachment to their existing sentry
- Mac scouts whack an apple with the Sandman instead of the standard baseball, it stuns at any range, you may thank your Mac engineers for this
- Mac scouts can also access the iTunes store thanks to Mac engineers inventing something called "The Internet"
