Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Limited Collector's Edition Detailed

LucasArts have dramatically pulled back the hood on the limited collector’s edition of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, and the goodies appear to be strong with this one.

Should you feel compelled to throw down the $80 for the limited edition, here’s what you’ll get:

  • A collectable SteelBook
  • Exclusive in-game content
    • Three exclusive challenge mode levels
    • An exclusive Ralph McQuarrie concept “Deak Starkiller” skin
    • An exclusive Lightsaber crystal
  • An exclusive MIMOBOT designer 2GB USB Flash Drive that comes preloaded with:
    • Digital art book, featuring insights into the art of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
    • Game script by Haden Blackman
    • Themed wallpapers

Those USB drives are pretty darn adorable, and the game script is a nice inclusion, especially for anyone interested in writing for games. I definitely would have preferred something along the lines of a real, functioning light saber or domesticated Ewok, but I guess this will have to do…for now.

Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

I already have the collector's edition pre-ordered. And trust me when I say, I am NOT a CE person at all. Out of the whole time I've been pre-ordering games I have never once gotten a collector's edition because at some point in my life I end up selling the game and then it's like well woops. However with this game, I absolutely LOVED the first one, loved the controls (yes they were a bit iffy in certain situations but what game isn't?) loved the storyline, loved the characters, etc... And I am a huge star wars fan as it is, so this makes even more sense to me. I ordered the collector's edition before I even KNEW what was going to come with it. Now that I know, it makes it that much better. Plus LA said they were revamping all the stuff in this game. I can't wait to see that trailer on SpikeTV friday, I am so flipping pumped, that's all I want to see.

Knowing Spike they'll save that until the last moment.

wow all this stuff seems sorta useless just like the fallout collectors edition. they realy gotta start including something worth my time to get me to buy this stuff like the Baterang that came with Batman:AA now that was a collectors item.

Meh, if I'm going to shell out extra bucks for a "Collector's Edition", it had best be for something I want to "collect" for. The Force Unleashed series didn't really sell me thus far. The first game was "alright", and the only thing they've released about the second game was a CG trailer and the price of the collector's edition. Show me some real gameplay.

They could replace all that crap with replicas of Starkiller's sabers and I'd pre-order the game in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd pay much more.

As someone who has already spent $100 on the GoW3 & Bioshock 2 CE's I'm liking the $80 price point Fallout New Vegas & SW:TFU2 have settled on.

Not only is it a lot easier to justify the expenditure but for what you end up getting for this set, in game bonuses and digital media, it makes a lot more sense.

All that said I'll still hold off preordering this until some footage of the game play and mechanics is shown and more importantly we have a chance to read a hands-on review of the controls because more so than anything else that's what killed the first Force Unleashed for me.

I like the idea of the special edition but idk if there is anything there that really makes me want to spend an additional 20 bucks. I mean ya the USBs are kinda cool but is a cool USB, an art book, a steel case, and some special in-game stuff that's not even an additional level or exclusive DLC worth 20 bucks? Personally, I'll probably just rent it and wait for the next special edition to come out. I mean I did the same with the first TFU and was rewarded with the Sith edition! Maybe this time they'll make it the Jedi edition and send him down the good side of the force or something?

The USB drive is pretty cool, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a dud like the one that came with the new Splinter Cell.

as much as that looks fantastic its going to be difficult to justify. The first was so bad in controls and recycled storylines, literally image for image from Empires and Jedi. However, if the game proves itself to do what the first should have I'll get it.

I'm not big on Collectors Editions but I agree with you about those USB devices. I may pick this up, pending if the game isn't as buggy as the first one.
