Sinclair Solutions' Top 5 Rejected Plasmids For BioShock 2

Though Take-Two Interactive said BioShock 2 sales were "slower than expected," the game was profitable for them and Take-Two leadership has clarified that they don't intend to leave the franchise behind. With 2K Marin working on X-Com, however, what does that mean for BioShock's future

"2K Marin is working on X-Com," said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick, in response to an analyst question during a financial call about the company's second quarter results today. "As it relates to BioShock, we think BioShock is still one of the most important franchises in the history. We intend to support the franchise. It [another BioShock game] doesn't have to be at 2K Marin."

Following the success of the original BioShock, Take-Two declared intentions to develop several sequels to the game. Irrational Games then began work on a still-unannounced new game, while 2K Marin was spun off to develop BioShock 2. The game received a largely positive reception.

Zelnick said Take-Two is currently focused on providing additional downloadable content for BioShock 2. So far, the content has added to BioShock 2's multiplayer, but the company has promised extensions of the single-player world down the line. No announcements have been made.

I enjoyed the first half of Bioshock 2 but thought the second half was boring. Why do games do that? I was never that excited to play as a Big Daddy but that wasn't the problem. The problem was the void left without having Andrew Ryan and Frank Fontaine to build a STORY around. I think it was a mistake making a 2nd game without having a great STORY and CHARACTERS in place to continue the series. 2K Marin relied to much on the SETTING(Rapture)and not enough on the STORY.

    One word: GOOD.

2K Marin clearly showed their hands as a bunch of hacks doing a cheap knock-off trying to cash in on a game made by better people than them. Bioshock 2 is easily one of the worse sequels. The original was built on a great story that had suspense that came from you, as the character you had no clue as to where he was or why, figuring out a mystery/conspiracy. Bioshock 2 had no suspense whatsoever. The entire plot is force fed to the player and it was a crap story to begin with, mostly because it made no sense!

I hope to high heaven they bring back the original talent to save this franchise and fire everyone in Marin.

the second one was a bit of a dissapointment( but still a good game.) i personally wanted to like like the game way more than i did. i do look forward to a sequel. it would be nice to see them either keep u playing as a big daddy and beef it up to improve on some of the shortcomings from 2, or put u back in the role of a human. no matter what they do, i can't wait to see how 3 turns out.

I REALLY want to see a 3rd one. Bioshock is my favorite game of all time, and i'd like to see a good ending to a great game. BUT! done right. i wouldn't mind playing as a big sister, but not sure how they'd do it. id really like to see a fall of Rapture sort of game though. a lot due to how much i think Andrew Ryan is one of the best bad guys in video game history.

I actually liked Bioshock 2 very much. It wasn't as mind blowing as the original but that was only because I had already experienced Rapture. I did actually like the hacking mini-games in the original much more than I liked the ones in Bioshock 2. As long as the gameplay and storyline are a solid as the two Bioshock games released so far, I would certainly love a third edition.

Here's a CRAZY idea - Let 2k Marin develop a new Bioshock (I thought they did a fine job with Bioshock 2, even the story was of high quality - it just wasn't as mind blowing as the original's), but wait until they're done with X-COM. By that point there might actually be demand for another game in the series, and you don't run the risk of turning away fans with your cynical milking of one of this gen's great success stories.

Bioshock 2 was sort of a let down compared to the first one. Rapture is dead now so people want a prequal. I bet you that it would suck ass. I'm sorry but lets be real, what can they do now? All they can do is bring it back to the fall of rapture and we all know how it will turn out and the creativity of the story will run dry. Gameplay would be repeat like its last one so its now dull. Hopefully they can make a similar game but Bioshock is now dead. Sorry to say it.

Is it just me or is anyone else wondering more about Johnny Topside. Maybe a good story could be how he turned into Delta. Or even a more in dept look into Fontaine Futuristics and Ryan Industries as maybe a employee. Or even do some kinda Portal-like spin off where your a plasmid test subject. Just listing some ideas here haha.

In my opinion go back to 2k boston they started it and they should end it. Bioshock 2 was a personal let down for me in terms of story and didnt have the awe factor the 1st time I played original. the only problem now is where to pick up after 2 left off...honestly i think they should do a prequel that actually has a story as opposed to 2's multiplayer. Like a lone citizen in rapture (without being a splicer) that tries to save his daughter from the little sister program and the rest of his family from the downfall of rapture..... trying to get to the surface...sort of like mark meltzers story in 2...but thats just how id set 3 because playing as a big sister probably isnt much different from playing as a big daddy

Next they'll add co-op. But I didn't really have a problem with the multi or singleplayer, multi was a little glitchy and single couldn't possibly live up to its predecessor.

I think they dropped the ball by taking the pre-fall Rapture and putting that in the multiplayer. The single-player part of the sequel took place in an environment we had already explored.

They should have dropped the multiplayer and let us play through the fall of Rapture while everything was still pristine.

Let's be serious, The mulitiplyer focus Hurt the Campaign in big ways thus not FULLY focusing on the Single player.

A sequel is always welcome, as far as it has a good story. However nothing will beat the original bioshock's story....just saying. First games to sequels always have better stories(with few exceptions). For example, Ct. Price was locked up in a gulag and soap had no idea, he didn't even say; "where the bloody hell is price?"
