There were serious worries about BioShock 2 before it was released, but the reception to the sequel was largely positive. Unfortunately, Take-Two Interactive has declared overall sales of BioShock 2 were "slower than expected," even though the game was ultimately "profitable" for Take-Two.
The reaction to BioShock 2's sales were disclosed during Take-Two's second quarter financial results call with analysts this afternoon, where a brand-new delay for Max Payne 3 was also revealed.
In the past, Take-Two has expressed a desire to continue producing sequels to BioShock, far past BioShock 2. A big-budget BioShock movie was also in the works, but has since stalled.
G4 rated BioShock 2 a 4/5, calling it a "definitely a must-play, especially for BioShock fans."
