just recently i saw some pc user created dlc for left 4 dead and it was great. and the same goes for the game little big planet for the ps3. my question is why is it that i pay for a service and can not enjoy free dlc content for the xbox 360. it pisses me of when the only dlc i can download sucks and to add insult to injury i have to spend hard earned cash or should i say mircosoft points.
I feel like that gaming in general is viewed as an immature or kiddish activity. I recently picked us a DS and find it even more so with that system. Why does the general public look at gaming that way and how does that affect the gaming "culture"?
Everyday i hear about a new reboot of an old franchise like Jurassic Park and I have even heard of a reboot of the Evil Dead franchise and with the news of a new Jurassic Park and Back to the Future game one would assume that Universal may try to release the game and the movie at the same time. My question is: Do you think that video games based on old movies could actually help reboot movies and old franchises or do you think they only hurt them because most movie games suck?
I just have one question when did E3 become 3D?!? I am sick of all this 3D blah adds nothing to the games!
I love playing games online, especially shooters such as Modern Warfare games. The online experience however goes from amazing to absymal based on the people who own mics and feel the need to spat racist slurs or just being dicks in general. It makes what is a fun way to kill a few hours into a sad moments where your just disappointed in humanity. What possesses people to become "Internet tough guys" as i like to call them, and should there be some sort of action or responsiblity of the game makers to have such players banned or at least have their talking priviledges revoked?
With the growing emphasis on the concept of motion control as the future of gaming, how does the Feedback crew feel about the gaping lack of motion control content geared for the physically and/or mentally challenged? I would imagine that motion control has the capability to allow a staggering number of new players into the game space. Players, whom of which have always been alienated from gaming due to tech limitations. I m simply hoping that these people are not all brushed aside when the key to the future of gaming becomes the ability to stand and deliver sometimes embarrassing feats of acrobatics.
Zach, I recently completed Red Dead Redemption and must say that i absolutely loved it, i thought it was brilliant the way the story carried on after the main plot was resolved, and really made you feel a sense of loss. Very few games seem to successfully implement a good narrative where the gamer is emotionally invested. So Zach, my question to you is what game has effected you the most emotionally as a result of story, setting, and characters?
How about a spelling game where players learn the difference between "their", "there", they're", and also "your" and "you're"....that would be great. :D
With all the buzz on fit gaming and excerising games catering to motion gaming.dont you feel with the project natal.they could get some really cool games for such a thing.Like for the "mature" aduinces MORTAL KOMBAT.do you think thats were they need to start heading with such gameplay.i would buy project natal just for a great mortal kombat motion/excerise game
Two questions pertaining to red dead, why can't i swim in video games still, does water really have to equal instant death in 2010? Secondly, why do bears swarm in Tall Trees? Is someone from rockstar into wow memes?
I think g4 should put up on their web site all of the episodes of game makers. It would it be great!
What are you most looking forward about E3? What game are you most excited about being announced/more info given about from each of the big 3.
I saw your soapbox on whether iPhones (or mobile devices in general?) can provide anything but a casual gaming experience. Many people consider the SNES the "golden age" or RPGs (my personal gaming preference), modern mobile platforms should have at least enough power to provide this sort of experience. Cell phone RPGs (including a couple Final Fantasy titles) seem to be big in japan, why aren't we seeing more of this in the states?
Do you think that the word "jinkies" from Scooby-Doo can be used somewhere in the show?
Alright it is prediction time who will win E3, How and why !I say sony with a move being their focus bringing real games and making them playable ie:socom 4 followed by a psp2 with dual analog sticks pictures and their big game coming soon will be the mass effect universe will be heading to ps3 . what is your thoughts.
Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all launched their consoles with innovations:Microsoft being a software company, made the Xbox 360 with really good software, and mainstreamed online gaming to the masses (ala Xbox LIVE).Sony, being a hardware company, designed the Playstation 3 to have powerful hardware (ala Blu-ray games).Nintendo being (more or less) a toy company, designed the Wii with motion controls (ala Wiimote). With broadband internet penetration in the household increasing, and the current financial recession found in our global economy, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have decided to extend the life of their preferred gaming machines by improving and incorporating features only found on other consoles. They do this by releasing regular software updates, and launching additional hardware accessories. So far Microsoft and Sony have decided to incorporate motion controls into the 360 and the PS3 using Project Natal and the Playstation Move, and Sony already announced that they will be launching a premium PSN service to compete with LIVE.In what other areas do you see the current generation of gaming consoles improving on next?
my question is that now when you play video games(ex. Uncharted) that has a movie feel. do you think that will make it better for it to make the jump to the big screen, or will they find a way to mess it up?
First let me start out by saying that I really appreciate and enjoy what you guys do every week. My question is, at what point in a game franchise does the quality of the franchise diminish? With games like Call of Duty putting out a new game every year and Halo lending out the name to an RTS and a spin off of the main story with Halo 3:ODST, at what point are the developers just "milking it" or do they really believe that each game is up to par with the integrity of the franchise they represent?
The seventh and current generation of gaming has been around for 4 to 5 years. Normally that means that this year's E3 will have some information about the next generation but seeing as the prices of the 360 and PS3 have now just gotten reasonable the cycle has been prolonged for another 2 years. The only one that seem to keep the cycle is Nintendo and thats only because of the rumors of the Wii 2. Putting Nintendo aside the 360 and the PS3 are trying to go for a 2.0 version of their consoles and thats what worries me. It seems to me like Microsoft and Sony are in a mad dash to E3 this year to show off their new interface. I personally believe that this will lead to either a bad interface that doesn't work the way it should or game developers that don't know how to properly use the interface in their games. So I'm wondering if you have any doubts about the new interfaces that Sony and Microsoft are making. Also can you shed some light on the Wii 2 rumors in anyway.
