A Dragon Age anime feature is being produced by Funimation and Bioware for a projected 2011 straight-to-DVD feature.
The film's executive producers are BioWare's Executive Producer Mark Darrah and Creative Director Mike Laidlaw, as well as Funimation's president and CEO Gen Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes.
Although we don't have any real details on the project (other than press release quotes like: "Anime is a great medium for us to continue the robust Dragon Age story," said Dragon Age franchise executive producer Mark Darrah), based on the game, I have to imagine the anime feature is 27 hours long, but doesn't really get going until around hour 15.
(That was a joke.)

I am not a fan of most anime at all. If BW was going to do this, I'd rather they got the people behind Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League to do it. They know how to do animation stuff right.

Hopefully Bioware and Funimation decide to take the story of this great title not during the game time line, but somewhere before. Like the 1st or 2nd Blight, and how everything got put together and the sorts before our heroes time of history.
Me being huge Anime fan I can't wait to see what new title will bring us.

I'm fine with the VA's at Funimation but I wish that they would use the VA's form the game for the Main Chars. And for that matter who would do "you" "the hero" and what origin story? if they even fallow the game's story?

I dunno, I'm kinda 50-50 on this. On one hand, it could turn out to be mindblowingly amazing just like the game that's influencing it. On the other hand, it could be brain-bleedingly awful and do a lot of damage to the reputation of the Dragon Age name. I guess there's nothing to do but wait and hope for the best.
