Square Enix has announced Dungeon Siege 3 for PC, PS3 and 360. This is the first time the venerable RPG franchise has showed up on consoles. The third Dungeon Siege game will feature four-player co-op play and environments that change with players' actions.
It is being developed by Obsidian games, the people behind Fallout: New Vegas, Alpha Protocol and other RPGs, although they're being supervised by original Dungeon Siege developer Gas Powered Games' boss Chris Taylor.
Obsidian has a lot of interesting projects on its plate. Alpha ProtocoL didn't exactly earn raves, but I know I'm completely in the tank for Fallout: New Vegas, and a console version of Dungeon Siege seems like another must-have game. What do you guys think? Any interest here?

I pretty much have to get this. I'm interested to see what Squenix does with the game. If the first spell is "Fire" I will lose it.

Yea the expansion for Dungeon Siege 2 was a let down. If this game is anything like the Dungeon Siege 2 however, then this will be awesome as ever.
The thing that most surprises me is that in the picture does anyone else thinks its a scene from Mass Effect 2? When your on the ship of the Collectors.

Been a long time since I've played a Dungeon Siege title, always felt like the bandwagon genre at the time since Diablo 2 was so popular.
But now its a great time to revisit genres that havent really been expanded upon much over the last 10 years.

I still have the Dungeon Siege that was made for the PSP from a few years ago. Loved it. Glad to see that this game series hasn't faded away.

I am looking forward to a console version of Dungeon Siege. I think it will be a lot of fun to get 3 friends in the same game for four player co-op play. I find co-op a lot of fun on the consoles.
