It's no secret that Eidos Montreal is working on Thief 4, but there's been no indication the game's going to be revealed anytime soon, let alone later this month at E3. A mysterious update from the official PlayStation Twitter account pointing towards www.thief4.com, however, got gamers talking.
"Oh man: http://www.thief4.com," read an update last night from the PlayStation Twitter account. The update is still viewable via Twitter's archive, but has been removed from the PlayStation feed.
Thief 4 hasn't been announced for any platforms, though a PlayStation 3 appearance wouldn't surprise many people. An official recognition by Sony so close to E3 suggested a close reveal.
The issue was quickly addressed and dismissed on the game's official message board.
"I have no idea where that came from," said Eidos Montreal community "guy" René Valen. "We're not talking about Thief 4 at all right now. Weird."
A surprise isn't impossible, but it sounds like someone may have just made a mistake.
On the plus side, Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be at E3, also in development at Eidos Montreal.

Oh well, they were great PC games back in the day. Sometimes they should leave old franchises alone, we don't need a Console version or a new addition. If anything, they should just reboot the series completely.
