Prospective rappers and/or rap stars will be able to live out their dreams virtually later this year as Konami has announced their hip-hop music game Def Jam Rapstar will be available on October 5.
Konami also revealed that renowned artists DJ Premier and Just Blaze will be creating brand new instrumental beats exclusively for use in the game’s Freestyle Mode, in which players can spit their own rhymes over totally original tracks. Other producers will be providing freestyle tracks as well, but Konami hasn’t announced any names yet.
A few more tracks have also been revealed:
- Biz Markie - "Just A Friend"
- Drake - "Best I Ever Had"
- Outkast - "So Fresh, So Clean"
- Pete Rock and CL Smooth - "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)"
- Salt-N-Pepa - "Push It"
- DJ Premier - “JJ’s Beat”
- Just Blaze - “On the One”
Def Jam Rapstar, which comes bundled with a microphone, will cost $69.99 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and $59.99 for Wii.
