I am a Mario super-fan, I'm not ashamed to admit it. That 's why I'm on this week's episode of Feedback, wherein we discuss Super Mario Galaxy 2, the plumber bros.' latest adventure in space/time. Adam, Abbie, Patrick, and special guest Morgan Webb are the other power stars on the panel, and they blow my mind when they tell me that the second player can also collect purple coins, making that whole endeavor significantly easier. Man, I wish I had friends.

Feedback -- Super Mario Galaxy 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Killzone 3 »

Elsewhere in this video program for the Internet:

  • Adam and I both saw Call of Duty: Black Ops in action, and Treyarch's first foot forward is an impressive one. You'll see what we saw at E3 -- until then, our verbalized impressions will have to suffice.
  • Another thing you'll see at E3 that I've already seen: Killzone 3. The second one didn't exactly win me over, but I'm actually looking forward to part 3. The shooting feels better, and it's got snow!
  • Everyone on the panel really, really, really wants Beyond Good & Evil 2 to come out, but are we setting ourselves up for disappointment? We address this week's cancellation rumors and keep hope alive.
  • Patrick played the new Harry Potter game, Deathly Hallows, Part 1, and has some reservations about Stupify being a rocket launcher.
  • Rockstar says they're not going to E3. We say, "Have you ever been at E3?"
  • Looks like David Cage is already casting for his next game. It won't be Heavy Rain 2, which means it's time to speculate on what it actually is! Probably something French.

Feedback: Coming up with amazing ideas and forgetting to follow through on them since 2009.

(Red Dead Redemption -- the game with horses that you can't stab in eye while naked -- is next week, partners.)

    1. Nice thumbs.

    2. Agree on Mario graphics. I like Mario, I'll play Mario, but the graphics just don't do it for me these days.

    3. Max Payne... Short, short, short version would be: He shot up a building while on drugs, ending with shooting a fat dude on the roof.

    4. A good ending is an ending you want to talk about. Doesn't matter what game it is or what the ending was. All that matters is there was something, some small part that made you want to find someone the next day and talk about it. A bad ending is an ending you never mention the next day and forget the game within a week until that day you look back at your achievement list waiting for DLC to download, like the new Prince of Persia.

Hey Adam, did you try a different nunchuk? Maybe the one your using is just a little old.
Also, I'm not so sure about Morgan's comment on the game being too cartoonish. I mean, Mario with a little more edge would be a good idea for a spin-off, but as the core franchise? That would be a betrayal to what I think of Mario. I just think that while geeks grow up, the stuff they like doesn't need to. I mean, if you're asking something to grow up, aren't you also asking it to get old? And then eventually "die"? Who would want that, honestly?

The max payne film was not a bad adaptation. Watch it with an open mind and especially consider the fact that the publisher forced a PG-13 rating on the film. Fact: If needles are used to inject a drug, it's an automatic R rating. It didn't help that the women that played Mona Sax's sister would not have her breasts appear on film even for the unrated version.

Also the film NEVER had a supernatural element. If you think this, then I challenge you to watch the film and have your perception challenged. The film left several doors open for a sequel; too bad the film underperformed in the box office (I blame the PG-13 rating).

I've seen the ending of Max Payne but I don't remember it at all. The only way I got through the movie was by imagining it as another movie completely. The sad thing is I own it on DVD, well not me.
