Star Wars lovers will have yet another way to enjoy their favorite sci-fi universe thanks to the newly announced free PC title Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures.
The game is being developed by Sony Online Entertainment (Free Realms), and will provide younger gamers with “exciting mini-games, dynamic activities, lively social events and thousands of customization options," all set within the universe created for the Clone Wars animated television series.
"Working hand in hand with Lucasfilm, LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment ensures that Clone Wars Adventures will be the most authentic and accessible Clone Wars experience for kids and families to play in their very own living room,” LucasArts global vice-president of publishing, Mary Bihr, said in a press release.
The game will be free to play, but will include the option to purchase a monthly subscription to access more content. There will also be numerous items to purchased via micro-transactions as well. In addition to mini-games such as droid programming and speeder bike racing, players will also be able to customize lightsabers and take on friends in the game's unique card-battle game.
Between LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, The Force Unleashed 2, The Old Republic, and this new title, the coming months will be very busy ones for fans of the force, young and old.

I play a couple of different f2p mmos. If done right, they aren't that bad. Sure they aren't as good as WoW, but I've been playing for months and only spent a total of $20. I'll give this one a try as a Star Wars fan, as long as it isn't too dumbed down for the kids. I don't like the option for monthly fee. I tend to avoid the F2P mmos like that. The ones I play still sell mounts and items and such, but it doesn't lock areas and events if you not a Premium/VIP player.

I got all excited to set my kids up with this game when it came out until I saw the SOE logo. Sorry Sony, I don't do SOE games anymore.

I hope its just the trailer but it look like a bunch of mini games set in and social network like PS3's Home ( i think thats the name)...but thats just a trailer so their could be a crap load of stuff to come. And they just announced it

I DEMAND more Tie Fighter, Battlefront, and Jedi Knight games. seriously, the only things we have right now POST RotJ (ep6) are books/comics. It makes me so angry, i could kick a MSE droid... on purpose this time.

No reason to give the cat -10 for saying F2P games should stop. There aren't many that have ever been worth playing. The best attempt in recent times was DDO's conversion and even that didn't hold my attention.

Dude have you not seen The Old Republic, clone trooper/commando is all most the same thing cause of the weapons and equipment but commandos are still better
