Morning Hangover -- The Game You Gave Up On

Sometimes, enough is enough. In a piece I'm publishing later today, I'll tell you why I haven't given up on Bit.Trip.Runner, despite the game's brutal difficulty level. That's not to say I'm not willing to give up on a game, though. I can't actually remember the last time I actually said "no, eff you, I'm done" and turned the console off. Usually, I get bored and forget to go back. In that case, Bayonetta.

Couldn't finish Psychonauts. Loved the game, but I couldn't get through the final level.

I forgot about FFXIII too. After 3 hours of running down the same hallways mashing the same button to attack and the annoying voice acting, especially that dumb ass pink haired bitch, I had it.

And TMNT for the NES. Has anyone ever beat that game? Was it even possible?

Punch Out!! on the Wii, I think I got to Bald Bull before I moved on to some other games and I haven't returned since. At least I got a Nunchuck out of the package!

I dave up on the newest Wolfenstein game. It had its good moments but parts of it were just too annoying.

Another one is HAWX It was cool too but got boring like most flying games do.

    AVP for the 360

What a horrible game. Like, Aids injected with cancer bad. I was expecting it to be at least close to the level of detail put into AVP2 for the PC back in what, 2001? But, no. Soooooo bad. Controls, bad. Story, nonexistent. Graphics, blah. Aiming, dumb.

And this is coming from the guy who powered through and beat AEON FLUX which, was horrendous. Seriously, AVP is garbage. I would rather play E.T. for the Atari again than ever let AVP back in my 360.

    NINJA CHAD

P.S. My 360 red ringed shortly after playing AVP and I am convinced it gave up on life due to the system shock of that game. I have since bought a new 360 and created a quaratine zone around AVP. I would try to sell it, but I don't think anyone else should have to be tricked into playing this game.

One game that I gave up on that sticks out is True Crime: Streets of LA. Once I got to the part with the fire demons/dragons/whatever, I quit.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Something about that game just kind of pissed me off. It tried to be the best game ever in so many notable ways but fell far from it. Also Bad Day L.A. Yes, I bought it.

I've given up on a lot of games, most recently Brutal Legend, i have this thing where i must beat a game for the first time on the hardest difficulty given. I got stuck on the tree level with the emo's it was so frustrating that i sold it the next day. Other games i gave up on include All of the Final Fantasy's (I have no been able to beat ANY of them, i think its a curse)

I stopped playing Fallout 3. I decided that finding Dad was the point of the game. That accomplished, I lost interest in the "save the world" plot that creeps up at the end.

I tend to get bored with mega long games (I lost interest in all the GTA games sooner or later). I also didn't get the hype on Assassin's Creed. Got bored pretty quickly with that one. However, I'm about 40 hours into Mass Effect 2 (I'm doing all side missions and mining as much as possible) and still love it to death.

    Uncharted: Drakes Fortune Crushing Mode
Man I was so frustrated at the up river chapter, I stoped playing it for 6 months, then one day I was bored and gave the game one last try and bang!!! beat it on my first try... after that the game was challenging but not like the up river chapter finished the game and got my platinum......

The game I could never finished was Alone in the Dark. I had bought the game because it was only 10 dollars so I said why not, it can't be that bad. I was so wrong. I had read all the reviews about it, and new it was a pretty bad game. Yet I have paid bad games before and liked them, Advent Rising, Too Human, etc. Never would have thought in a million years this game was going to be that bad. I mean the story was uninteresting, the controls were terrible, and most of the time I had no clue where to go. The biggest thing that bothered me was the main characters swearing for no apparent reason. I mean I don't mind when people swear to emphasize a point, but they all the characters dropped the F-bomb so many times that it lost its meaning.
