Activision Confirms Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

Well, (not much of a) mystery solved. Activision has confirmed via new preorder site that Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is in fact the name of their next rock and/or roll-based music game.

Amazon outed the new title earlier this week, suggesting too that it would be released in September. The new site doesn’t include any new information about the game, but the graphic on the page clearly suggests a Brutal Legend-esque tone. Given the history between Tim Schaeffer/Double Fine and Activision, I can’t help but thinking that Activision is just asking for trouble if they are in fact taking a kind of rock mythology approach with the game. Or I could just be reading into it too much. That's always possible.
