Amazon Outs Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock?

Up to this point, it’s been assumed that Activision’s next Guitar Hero game would simply be titled Guitar Hero 6. Well, get ready to send back all of those customized coasters, pens and refrigerator magnets, because there’s a good chance the game will actually be called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

Activision hasn’t announced the new name or anything, but a listing over at Amazon suggests the new title is a distinct possibility. The listing also includes a release date of September 21, 2010, which might just be an educated guess, or a placeholder, but it’s not entirely unlikely. Guitar Hero 5 was released in September last year after all.

In addition to the standard edition, the game will also be available as part of a Guitar Bundle for $100 and a Super Bundle (presumably with guitar, drums, microphone, etc.) for $180. A spokesperson for Activision refused to comment about the listing, but my guess is Activision won’t be as tightlipped when E3 2010 descends upon us in a few weeks.

What would you rather be: a Legend of Rock or a Warrior of Rock?

Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

i for one am hyped on the release of another GH and RB for i am a music game fan and ppl that are gona pass up GH for RB still confounds me its the same game what makes GH drifferent from RB? the graphics? the venues? whatever the difference is they are still the same core game and also anyone sayin that RB's setlist's are better i happen to agree on most cases but RB pretty much ends up stealing the good songs off GH and makeing the DLC

For some reason I'm picturing Jack Black holding up a guitar with lighting and fire announcing this game. ha

I'm finding it hysterical how alll these folks on here are listing who they want on their Warriors of Rock lists and not one person has mentioned Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie, Steve Vai, John Bonham, Angus Young etc....without these guys...anyone of those psudo musicians that were mentioned wouldn't even have a job in the music industry. And since when does playing as fast as possible and screaming unintelligible lyrics into a mic constitute being a Rock Warrior?

Despite how great Guitar Hero 5 was I don't think I will ever buy a Guitar Hero game again. Now Rockband, maybe.

With all of these Rock Band and Guitar Hero games out each year there is only one thing now that'll have me buying the game...the setlist. If it has good tracks then the game is mine.

I agree with OMG_BBQ. Also too bad about Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray. R.I.P number 2, the Maggots and your local community miss you. Stay (SIC)

    Killswitch Engage
    Lamb of God
    Rob Zombie
    KoRn
    Slipknot
    Dio (R.I.P.
    The Devil Wears Prada

This game better have hard songs or I will not buy it just like every other GH game since GH4. GH3 was the last good GH game because it has challenging songs.

Hopefully by calling it warriors means it'll include; Dave Mustaine, Scott Ian, Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Daron Malakian, Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, Alexi Laiho, Alex Skolnick, Jimmy Page, etc. NOT anyone from Nickelback, Theory of a deadman, and 3 Doors Down

I'd be a warrior of rock if i can actually play good MODERN metal songs/bands. ie: Bullet for my Valentine, In Flames, Lamb of God, Disturbed, System of a Down, Rob Zombie, Underoath, etc

Maybe Activision will release Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Guitar Hero 6 simultaneously because there are just not enough music games out already. A definitive pass, I will wait for Rock Band 3 with their keyboard.

A name like this could actually point to another kind of game...in the vein of Brutal Legend...

    Axel Steel
    Judy Nails
    Johnny Napalm
    Casey Lynch
    Pandora
    Izzy Sparks

selectable characters in a music based hack and slash...

though I'd hope they'd know better than doing that.....

Oh god make it stop....please make it stop!

No more music games, Activision and Harmonix beat this horse to death in the height of its popularity and killed it forever, this will never be a popular genre EVER again and will fade away like DDR, PLEASE STOP MAKING THESE GAMES!!!!!

Id sooner buy a real damn guitar and learn how to play it for real than to pick up another useless plastic periphrial!
