Following the recent reveal of a hefty number of details about Guerilla Games’ upcoming shooter Killzone 3, Sony has gone ahead and officially announced the game. Surprise!
According to the press release, Killzone 3 picks up right after the events of Killzone 2, with the player having to take on the Helghast alone following the nuclear annihilation of the Helghan capital, Phyruss. The game will include levels “ten times bigger than in Killzone 2,” and will feature a host of varied environments, including “toxic nuclear wastelands,” a “lethal alien jungle,” “bitter arctic conditions” and even space. As Sony puts it, "This is David vs. Goliath…if Goliath had thousands of troops and a thermonuclear arsenal."
Sony also confirmed Stereoscopic 3D support as well as the inclusion of jetpacks, so if those things are important to you, then congratulations. It was already expected that Sony would have something to show off at E3, and this official announcement pretty much seals the deal. ..And on the heels of the Halo Reach Beta..
..This is why people are thinking that they're jumping on the "jetpack bandwagon" - even if Killzone Liberation already DID have jetpacks.

This is going to be the game of the moment, just like Halo Reach is going to be the game of the moment when it's moment hits in September, and like Gears of War 3 will be when it hits. These three games are going to be total powerhouses for all the reasons that the franchises are great and that's about all that can be said. They are all GREAT for different reasons and the gamers are richer for having these games to look forward to. And since I only have PS3, I'm looking forward to Killzone 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! I new it K2 had too much of a cliff hanger ending! i hope the multiplayer is as good if not better than K2, also i hope there are stealth attacks, i hope hope hope that the brutal melee is like Gears of War 2's executtions! please Sony blow my mind away for the 3rd time!

I'm still playing KZ2 online to this day. Can't get enough of it. I like the controls, it just needs less input lag.
what ever you do, dont add aim assist Guerilla.. then we'll just have another n00b shooter like COD

I wasn't into 3D till I saw one at Bestbuy the other day. It looks really good. An HD 3D Killzone 3 is going to be ridicules. Rumors are that the release date is the same as Gears of War 3.

FANBOYS!! This isn't the first time kz has featured jetpacks. It existed in kz liberation. Secondly, the making of kz3 didn't start now, they have been working on it since kz2(you could tell by the way kz2 ended). One would think M.S was paying you to be trolls, but no! You are just pathetic.

Looks like jet packs are all the rage these days. ("Dark Void" >> "Halo: Reach" >> Now Killzone 3") Nonetheless, I kinda like Killzone 1, but haven't played KZ2 since I only have a 360, but KZ3 might be a pretty decent game.
