Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Ubisoft announced this week that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has been pushed back until early 2011. Now the publisher has confirmed that the beta has been delayed as well.

“Concerning the beta, it will be delayed in-line with the game but will still definitely happen," Future Soldier senior community developer Kimi Matsuzaki explained in a recent post on the game's official site. "We made the decision to delay it in order to bring you a more polished beta so your feedback would focus more on gameplay, less on bugs.”

In the same beta post,  Matsuzaki said, “While we would love nothing more than to bring you the game we’ve been working hard on earlier rather than later, it would only be a disservice to both the community and to our team to release GRFS before it is ready.”

This differs a bit from Ubisoft’s statements earlier this week, which cited 2010's "very competitive environment” as a primary reason for Future Soldier’s delay. However, there’s no reason to assume these reasons are mutually exclusive, and it’s all but guaranteed that they’re not. Whatever the reason, I’m more than a little bummed about having to wait a few extra months for the game. I previewed it a while back, and I definitely liked what I saw.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will not arrive during this holiday season after all. CEO Yves Guillemot announced during an investors conference call today that the game has been pushed back to 2011.

"Due to a very competitive environment, we decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter, and into the March quarter," Guillemot said. "It will also provide additional time to our development teams to realize their vision."

This sucks I really wanted this game to come out this year but I can understand why its being delayed because of all the Shooter games coming out at the end of this year. Call of Duty: Black Ops, New Medal of Honor, Socom 4, Halo Reach, Etc so many great Shooter coming out this year so its pretty much a smart move to Delay it. It happened also to Killzone 2, it got delayed to early 2009 because of all the games that came out in late 2008

there might be some good things to come out of this delay. I don't mind waiting a few months to get a polished game and an overall better game. There should always be a public beta!!!!!!!!
