Well, it’s official. Lionhead Studio’s much anticipated adventure follow-up Fable III will be released on PC, as well as Xbox 360, this holiday.
Last week, box art for the 360 version popped up online, which included the “Only on Xbox 360 and Windows” branding, but today, Microsoft has released officially official art and details that officially confirms as much.
In addition to the PC news, Microsoft has shared information about the Xbox 360 Limited Collector’s Edition as well. While there is no edition for the Windows version, PC players will have access to the unique downloadable content included in the limited edition. If you feel like throwing down $79.99, here’s what you’ll get:
- A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.
- Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.
- Fable III playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in Fable III, including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.
- Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.
- A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.
- One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your Fable III adventures.
Now the only question is how those Project Natal-powered features in the game will be handled in the PC version. Unless of course Microsoft has some super sneaky plan to release Natal for PC as well later this year. 'Tis the season for crazy announcements, what with E3 looming and all. Guess we'll find out soon enough if my wild, caffeine-fueled speculation is true or not.
Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter.

I don't own an Xbox 360 or any console for that matter; and I've been waiting for a standard RPG to hit the PC and it looks like I will be picking this game up. Finally another game I can play besides an MMO. if it all looks good and possibly enjoyable for me to play I just might try and pre-order it or purchase it later down the road.

It's a little sad that with all the limited edition stuff they listed, all I really want is that nifty box. O_o

All sounds good, I just hope that it doesn't lagg on XBOX like Fable 2 does....it makes the gameplay not as fun.

the deck of cards is pretty cool, it ties in with the theme of fable well. Hopefully the limited edition of Fallout: New Vegas come's with a pack of cigarettes, or a nuka-cola

Hopefully they won't screw up on delivering what they promised with this limited edition like they did for Fable 2 when the figure for the limited edition was suppose to be included but was cut do to problems at the last minute

I don't know, I'm kinda miffed about the last LE. Not just the removal of things in it but also that I happened to pass by the one part where I could obtain my LE (the chest in the Guild Cave) and almost never got what I payed for. Luckily they patched it eventually to allow me to get the items but by that time they were not worth it at that time of my character's progression.

I'm just waiting for the Pug companion skin for Fable 3. Everyone knows an adventurer's best friend is a Pug Dog.
Sure there'll be a weighted average that when he finds treasure it's actually delicious meats or cheeses, and he'll attempt to frighten away the Hobbes by snorting at them (or blending in..awwww)...but I'm holding out for the Pug!

Well i remember Bill gates saying something about Natal to be used with computers.

I'm gonna get the collector's edition because I'm too big of a fan to care about the collector's premium.

Watch, before release that deck of cards is going to be suddenly cut from the limited edition.
and is it just me, but that first "perk" sounds like a complete rip-off of WoW
Silverpine forest? Check
Going there exclusively to deal with werewolves? Check-a-roonie!

dammit not again! seriously what is up with companies doing this? I'm okay if the collector's edition comes with bonus videos or action figures or coins or whatever but when so much of the game isn't available unless you get the collector's edition it's just not right! it basically turns the normal version of the game into an incomplete version of the game. hell last time when Fable 2 came out I wanted to get the collector's edition of the game due to it having full content but all the stores got very limited amounts! so I was forced to get the regular edition. everybody deserves to get the game in it's full entirety and this is once again going to cause about 80% of the people who buy it to be completely unable to get the full game...

I would figure since they live in Great Britain... the extra breed would be a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I hoped.
Kill Audio
Yup, definitely getting it. I wonder when the pre-order starts?

No, just another moron who makes the people who only have a PS3 look bad.

ROFL at the Guild Seal Coin.
Hmm... enslave the world for money, or save it for fame?
