Google Debuts First Playable Doodle

The arcade version of Pac-Man first launched on May 21, 1980, which makes today the 30th anniversary of the seminal video game! To celebrate, search engine Google has unveiled its first playable doodle. That's it above. But it's more than just a doodle. You can actually play Pac-Man on Google's page. Check out the video under the "Read More" tag.

Google's Pac-Man is equipped with many unique characteristics from the original game. From preserving the distinct personalities of the ghosts Inky (blue: fickle), Blinky (red: chaser), Pinky (pink: ambusher) and Clyde (orange: slow) to re-creating programming bugs from the original game like a “kill screen” on level 256, Sr. User Experience designer at Google, Marcin Wichary, along with Google doodler, Ryan Germick, remained as faithful to the spirit of Pac-Man as possible.

So go to google, click on  the “insert coin” button and play the game. Users have 48 hours to reach the 255th level until the doodle goes down on the 256th.
