We've been fortunate enough to have had copies of Alan Wake for a few weeks now, which means our opinions have had plenty of time to percolate, which we now serve to you in this week's freshly-brewed episode of Feedback. The E3 vortex has opened up early this year and sucked Adam away into a dimension of pain and crummy continental breakfasts, so Patrick's in the driver seat for the discussion, with Abbie, Sterling, and Steve riding along. See how we'd review Bright Falls on Yelp, as well as new details on Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Feedback -- Alan Wake and Call of Duty: Black Ops »

And in other news...

  • The April NPD sales numbers are out, and it wasn't the prettiest of pictures. What's behind the sluggish sales? And is Red Dead RedemptionAlan Wake, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 going to jumpstart the summer?
  • It seems as if Sony is debating whether or not to turn PlayStation Network into a premium service -- or at least, parts of it. Once again, we ask what's worth paying for in the realm of online services.
  • A viewer would like to know how and when a game's story can keep it afloat when the actual game part kind of stinks. Chances of us mentioning Deadly Premonition again: 100%, Zach.

Feedback: Distracted by random coffee thermoses since 2009.

Can anyone tell me what the "Set-piece" was that G4's review referred to as being in two other games that came out in 2009. I just finished the game, FANTASTIC, and I never found it. I'm dieing to know.

Just a thought on downloadable content. I've only tried XBOX Live at a friends' house and hated the smack talk and constantly being killed by people who apparently can spend ten hours a day playing a game. However, I just bought Red Dead Redemption and there is a code for a better horse. Of course since I don't have XBOX Live I can't get it. Doesn't it seem unfair to pay $50 a year to get things like this for someone who has no interest in multiplayer?

Man, I played the .hack series for the story even when the gameplay really never changed.
I just remember thinking "wow this would make an awesome movie" with the cool plot developments and dvd companion that added another element to the story. It kinda makes me think that story was the whole point of the .hack games.
I mean checking message boards for a game mechanic?
That's pretty lame, but it did immerse the player more in the "i'm playing a character who plays an MMO."

Gah, now I wanna watch those .hack dvds again. XD

ya right, let's see Abigail beat Landstalker without a walkthrough. Genesis ftw. because no matter how good any of you are, that game will make you look inside yourself and you will realize that your feeble mind could not comprehend greenmaze, let alone find the Ice Spikes ;D

(ps: abbie is still pretty, even if she cant beat Landstalker)

who thinks bungie should pick up the jedi knight FPS franchise? The Raven discussion reminded me that jedi academy is absolutely my favourite SW game, but the developer has lost its touch imo. judging from its beta, the reach engine would be awesome for sequels

I thought Raven software was working on dlc for MW2... I guess I was wrong. Either way I would prefer having IW work on their dlc and Treyarch working on their dlc because the way I see it if it is handled by a series of hands then it just gets diluted that much more. Its like if a movie has a bunch of writers, it usually sucks (unless its Casablanca).
Also I have definitely noticed the brosef aspects in games and for me its not enough to drive me away, it just bothers me a little while I'm playing it. I still love MW2, but just knowing that bros do too... it sends shivers down my spine...
Also Patrick did a really good job directing the discussion and making sure that everyone got a chance to speak and get their points across. Sometimes Sessler misses opportunities to let everyone talk by focusing on his left side of the table. Nice job Mr. Klepek (sorry Adam!)
