Final Fantasy XIII made the jump to the Xbox 360, and it went on to sell over five million copies and become the fastest selling title in the series. Coincidence? Square Enix certainly hopes not. Not surprisingly, they're "looking into" bringing Final Fantasy Versus XIII to the Xbox 360. A looking into that is going to take them right up to "officially" announcing the game.
Square Enix president and CEO Yoichi Wada was recently asked about that exact possibility at an investor meeting, to which he replied, "We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.” Which means, for one thing, we'll actually be getting a formal announcement. Does that mean that announcements at E3 way back in 2006 don't even count?
That was when Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would actually be a trilogy of games they were calling "Fabula Nova Crystallis." Final Fantasy XIII was the first title, then Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and finally (hee!) Final Fantasy Agito XIII. While it certainly sounds like a trilogy, Agito XIII has only been announced for the PSP in Japan, which would mean that many Xbox 360 owners would need to branch out to a handheld and move to another country in order to complete the story.
The game was already a no show at the last Tokyo Game Show because the development team was under the gun. So hopefully we'll have further news during E3 next month.

I could of swore I read an earlier news release that had some developer at SE saying that the Xbox 360 just wasn't powerful enough to develop the game on so they were making this a PS3 exclusive and would THINK about making a PORT of the game to xbox 360 (aka graphically dumbed down version). I'm sure if they don't, this game will probably be multi-DVD since the xbox can't handle the graphics content of bluray games on their dated DVD drives. The CG scenes alone already look immensely impressive and who knows how big of a game this will be. If it is a short game, I'm sure with the dumbed down graphics it will fit perfectly on an xbox DVD. If it's longer, maybe 2 DVD's if you're lucky.

what the hell is wrong w/ this ps3 fan boys not that im with xbox360 cause i got the both of them consoles, both consoles are great and 4 me i dont c any difference between the 2 consoles, i played FF13 on ps3 and xbox360 at one time and the only difference was just the controls its just up 2 the player if he's just comfortable on Xbox360 or PS3 and any1 who reads this and does not put a thumbs up on my comment they will suffer the disease of DPA (dumb player ability) hehehe they will become so dumb that they couldn't finish any game even if its in the easiest mode wwahahaha so better put a thumbs up or else WAHAHAHAHAHA (evil lough) this happened 2 me once ^-^

Everybody have you seen the graphics of this game.....its WAY to good on Xbox.....im not saying that i hate Xbox but if you heard the reviews on FF11 or XIII on Xbox then you understand me.....if SE said that is ONLY FOR PS3 then you can't change it and besides, the director is from KH and he always go for Nintendo and Sony......he NEVER used Microsoft. Do you people understand me? And the game feels more comfortable on the PS3.....even if I was a fan of Microsoft, I would still say that Versus XIII fits better on PS3 platform.

one more thing i prefer the ps3 to the xbox but still 13 was a good game and the reasons for the cuts are not the consoles but the fact that they arent taking as long on the storyline as they used to and just whacking it all into the cut scenes. cut back on the cut scenes and add more gameplay and everyone will be happy about it. just dont bring one out on wii cause the wii can barely handle tomb raider! so no way will it be able to handle a ff game. ps3 geeks get over it complain about the stuff that counts not the stuff that doesn't fair enough it did take longer to come out but i would have waited even longer if they put more gameplay and less cutscenes in. its the cutscenes that are ruining the ff games they are putting in way too many!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe you should all be writing about this. and the reason that people will walk if it goes on xbox is not because its ruining the game its because they are all into the ps3. you need to do some proper research and the ps2 games were alot more dissapointing than 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10, 10-2 and 12 were all nothing compared to 6,7,8 and 9. xbox can cope and as a matter of fact the only difference between the xbox and ps3 games is the dics space a ps3 disc can hold more data but that is not and would never be hindered by changing discs like us hardcore fans were doing years ago!!! get a grip on reality and take the games for what they are and stop being such a bunch of babies about the xbox. i would like to see a ff game on kinect actually being able to control the characters actions with your own body on the games would be amazing!!!!!!!!

can i just say that even before now final fantasy games have been on other consoles to name a few snes, playstation, playstation 2, gameboy/colour/advance(sp), psp, nintendo 3/ds/i, playstation 3, xbox 360 and pc. I am a hardcore final fantasy fan and before now look back to the playstation when 7,8 and 9 were out and you had to change between discs iv played 13 on both xbox and ps3 and they were both awesome. all i can say about this cutting out that people are mentioning is that the franchise isnt putting as much into a game anymore ever scince ten (which was a playstation 2 game) the stories have been too linear and don't allow so much exploring the world etc anymore they should put back in all the side quests and people should stop moaning about the platforms if xbox was going to effect the end result at all it wouldnt be released people need to know and learn that it is the game developers that are letting us down fair eneough still giving us new ideas and stories but bring back all the old sidequest style missions to the games. and for the person who mentioned that they were making 14 and that at the same time they have always done this whilst 6 was being made work also started on 7 and 8 it is not the same people working on every single game it changes. if this is the reaction to 13-2 on xbox i hope to god that they stop working on the remake of 7 for ps3 and xbox.

this is for all of the people against the whole Final Fantasy versus 13 going to XBOX saying it was because of the XBOX that games that crossed over(like FFXIII) sucked.
1)Get over it, if it crosses over, then it crosses over.
2)If it does go to XBOX, it could give the opportunity for people who only have XBOX to play it, because their millions of people who dont have, and cant afford a PS3.
3)If you think the game sucked because it crossed over to XBOX, and had to change then your wrong. FFXIII had three discs so that it could be what was originally planned.
4)Just stop whining. XBOX and PS3 are both good consoles.

you know if square enix don't realize after seeing they had to cut the game in half to make it equal to the X-box 360 and the ps3 version only outsold the x-box 360 version that I don't even want to buy final fantasy versus XIII if it is going to be on the x-box 360 because it is going to be cut like ffXIII and ffXIII-2 for now on square-enix is not looking after the fans but just sales and nothing else final fantasy is and always be best on Ps3 only

That's why LOST ODYSSEY has more FMVs than FF13 along with great graphics, including more than 24 separate FULL BLOOM HD TOWNS!
Also, that's why Star Ocean 4: TLH is in HD and has over 60 towns as well as 200 hours of gameplay spanning multiple discs. Sure thing fanboy, 360 could not handle it. No, what you need to get is Final Fantasy had already decided to not make the towns interactive BEFORE the 360 version was even announced. It had already been cut given the game was 70% complete and it was cut for STORY reasons - That's exactly what the producer said!!
Gran Pulse is larger than the overworld in FF10 nearly, and loads seamlessly on both the 360 and PS3 with no loading times. There could been a lot more to it, but what is there is enormous as is. If Square had more than 6 months to work on it and did not have to rush release? We probably would have had a perfect game, regardless of platform.

Pick sense from nonsense. Final Fantasy XIII had additional area's and concepts that were already running on PS3 configurations. For those who think the 360 did not hinder the development of the game, ask yourself, why was the first video gameplay so far back? It was in development on the playstation 3. Why did it take longer to release? It was placed on the 360. If you search for beta video's you'll see video of Snow running through towns with people talking and things like that.
You'll see stores and shops. Where is this content? Not available because it had to be scrapped to fit on the xbox 360. I know I'll get a lot of negative's for this, but the truth is that the 360's hardware is not superior to the Playstation 3. The ps3 uses blu ray, which holds more data. More data means more graphics and content can be stored. To get all of this content to play you need a high end rig of good hardware. The hardware in the PS3 runs that data. The best system other than the PC which cannot be considered an actual "Console" IS the playstation 3. Look at Heavy Rain...even games like Metal Gear Solid 4. Do you honestly believe games like that could ever make it to the 360? Yes, very much so. But at what cost? A 50 disc game just to get all the graphics, data and everything else.
Face the truth, Final Fantasy HAS BEEN HINDERED by the 360's hardware flaws compared to the PS3. If not, read the tech specs for each one. If you still don't believe which overall is the better console, then get real.
Like the president for sony said at E3, We all answer to one god, and that's the gamer god. In the end, even if a console is "Better" we all should experience games. So final fantasy on the 360, sure all for it.
But when the good things about a game, or what makes it unique is stripped cause another system can't handle it?

Ok what you people are misunderstanding is it needs to be confirmed first. Until then I dont believe a g@ddamn thing. Xbox F()2ks need to understand that this is the team that made kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete which was released only on Blu-ray. The Producer doesn't want it on the Xbox. why not respect the man and his team's wishes? Porting it to the Xbox takes a 1disk, beautiful 1080p work of art and expands it into a multidisk dulled down beta game. I bought my PS3 and 1080p Tv exclusively for this game when it was first announced. My 360 was a gift. I cant say the
360 doesn't have good games. I enjoyed Gears of war and the Halo series, But I'm a fan of Nomura, So my friends, me and every other ps3 owner will be enjoying this game on the system the Producer and and his team intended it to be played on. Xbox fan boys can just be happy they get to play it at all.some of them on their tube tvs.

folks, Xbox and PS3 systems can hold the same game graphics no problem. The blue ray portion is for the movie player portion of your system..so get over it

Wow square enix is just full of lies they say one thing and do another if the ffxiii versus comes in 360 i'll be damned i bought the PS3 thinking it would be exclusively only to PS3 which is one of the reasons i bought it. Goddamn square-enix.
