What kind of game is it?
Split/Second is an action racing game that can be compared to the Burnout series (especially Burnout Revenge), although the emphasis on taking down competitors is based less on physically ramming them into a guardrail and more on using the environment and its many hazards to stop them.
It also features modes like Survival, in which you must gently steer your vehicle around a speeding 18-wheeler that spills explosive barrels out of its truck bed, and Elimination, in which you must race against the clock and your position to prevent yourself from an combustible conclusion.
Who's the Developer?
Brighton, England-based Black Rock Studio, the developers behind Disney’s last hit racer, the surprise sleeper PURE.
What's the story?
There’s not too much plot, but the idea is that Split/Second is a reality show in which competitors go head to head on a giant TV set filled with dangerous pitfalls that are set to blow at the will of any given driver.
Multiplayer/Online?
Split/Second features online race modes for up to eight players. You’ll be able to participate in the same events you can play in single-player over Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
What'd we say?

Played the demo. reminded me of a version of ridge racer or burnout with blue koopa shells added in. Every time i was in the lead inevitably a flaming barrel would fall from the sky and blow up my car.

Split/Second is much better than blur. Split/Second lets you blow stuff up. Blur lets you fill bars.

What are your guys' opinions - Split/Second or Blur? Both look like cool games. However, I am limiting myself to one or the other given that many other titles coming out in the near future.

I played the demo all last week, and I have to say that it is a lot of fun!
HOWEVER, Modnation Racers, which I am strongly interested in, is out next week. So unfortunately I'll have to put this one to the side for now. Too bad, because I was very impressed with the demo, personally.
