Alan Wake isn't even on store shelves yet (though we're really, really close!), but the excitement for Remedy Entertainment's action-horror game is undeniable, given how much we're already talking about the downloadable content for it. Microsoft has already issued a release date for the first set of downloadable content for Alan Wake and Remedy's provided some clarity about what to expect.
Your first taste of post-disc adventures in Alan Wake will happen on July 28, according to Xbox Live Europe editor Daniel Maher, who made the news official via his Twitter account last night.
Details of what's hidden inside that content are currently unavailable, unfortunately, but speaking with CVG, Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen went into more detail about how Remedy will (and won't) be extending the story and hopefully setting up for the sequel.
"The game add-ons aren't telling more of the story, so to speak," explained Hakkinen in a cryptic answer. "It'll give you a different perspective on the things you've done on season one and then trying to set you up for the possible things you're going to do in season two."
It doesn't sound like the downloadable content will provide many concrete answers beyond the game's (amazing) ending, but rather, provide new ways to interpret where Alan Wake might go next.
