Lost Planet was a game that helped define the early years of Microsoft's console. Capcom was an early supporter of Xbox 360 and alongside Dead Rising, Lost Planet was proof of their faith. Now, Lost Planet 2 is here and the reaction has been -- how to put this -- decisive. Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Sterling McGarvey and myself headed into the Feedback studio to talk about our time with the game.

Feedback -- LittleBigPlanet 2, Nintendo 3DS, And Lost Planet 2 »

In this episode of Feedback...

  • Sony and Media Molecule have finally confirmed LittleBigPlanet 2 and we are super excited.
  • More details on the Nintendo 3DS are discussed...before the machine is actually revealed. We now know the 3D technology can be turned off by users and the current name, 3DS, isn't final.
  • Activision CEO Bobby Kotick issued a surprisingly long statement recently about the firing of former Infinity Ward leaders Vince Zampella and Jason West, two men he called "friends."
  • Electronic Arts announced a new "Online Pass" initiative for its upcoming sports games, which locks online multiplayer and other features behind a gateway that costs $10 for used gamers.
  • We break down Lost Planet 2 and wonder about Japan's approach to co-op gameplay.
  • Finally, President Obama's comments about playing video games and using iPhones and iPads has riled up the G4tv.com readers, so we address the concept of games, addiction and hobbies.

Feedback, where I try to avoid strangling Adam Sessler over his Lost jokes week after week.

well patrick. ur an idiot and i don't care who don't like it. -1 for all i care. i beat RE5 multiple times on single player. with no problem just because you couldn't, that don't mean the game is as bad just because you couldn't beat it. i agree with sterling. RE5 is a waaaaaay better single player experience that lost planet 2. didn't have any problem with the AI just because you don't know how to play RE5 don't mean crap. and for one RE5 was bug free and not stupid like Lost Planet 2.

I'd like to hear a politician slam television for a change. We all know it's a much larger time sink but it's also the primary avenue for political campaigning. It's no surprise that TV is left out of the lineup.

Delivering a speech about using technology as a tool of empowerment sounds great. Please show us the value of that use, or lead us in an effort to create it. If the ultimate expression of an enlightened citizenry is marching a sidewalk holding a sign I'll return to my soma holiday.

What is it going to take to get you guys to discuss the validity, or lack thereof, of paying for x-box live? I have been asking the same question practically every week for months on end and I thought that for once you guys were going to discuss it but you only touched on it for a second in regards to having to jump through two hoops in regards to what EA Sports is doing. I say why jump through ANY hoops at all? Every gaming platform before or after the release of the x-box and the launch of x-box live has provided FREE multi-player support. Not only is Microsoft charging for the privilege of playing online at all, but they are charging money for DLC that is provided for free on other platforms. The Passing for Left 4 Dead 2 is 100% absolutely FREE for the PC, but x-box live users are charged money or it just because it's on live. It's not the first time, and if gamers continue to allow microsoft to pull stunts like this then it's going to become the business model for every other gaming platform. It's going to get to the point where I will be forced to purchase every multi-player game I want on the PC because I REFUSE to pay twice for my video games. I'm not trying to hate on microsoft, it's a legit issue. People validating the business model that it's alright to charge folks for things that always have been and should continue to be free will only make it easier for other companies to do the same.

Why does Klepek keep indirectly emphasizing that he is not gay?
It's getting annoying, like he wants everyone to know that he has girlfriend thus-->not gay...

Regarding "Online Pass, I don't really mind since I buy FIFA on the first day it's out. As long as EA doesn't decide to charge people to play online or to update the roster.

I, as a gamer most of my life (born 1988, I was around for the NES Heyday) I do have to disagree that, while I don't think kids should be playing ALL of the games available to adults, they shouldn't be prohibited from it. I personally grew up and could tell the difference between too much time behind my console and not. It was playing Dragon Quest 4 when I was 6 that really got me into gaming in the first place. I think it's partially the PARENTS responsibility, along with the child's, to limit their time in these games to go out with friends, to go play in the dirt, to go make the football team (yes, I, a gamer, was on the football team). I think that the approach of making games more expensive and harder for younger audiences to get a hold of is, well, wrong. These kids who spend ungodly amounts of time in WoW? Yeah, their parents need to be pimp slapped. I also blame the kids themselves. There is absolutely no excuse for it. Point being: Responsibility is key.

Also, I would like to say that Gears of War was mentioned by Patrick towards "single player". You obviously haven't read the GI article on it. 3 is going to be 4 player co-op. I think 4 player co-op is going America too, not just a Japanese front.

The comment Abbie made about not going to school reminded me of when I went to highschool. I remember the day Halo 3 came out, me and a few friends went to the midnight release and later that night and all the next day we had 23 to 25 people all from my junior class playing halo rather than going to school. Good times. I wish I could go back to those highschool days with nothing better to do.

Wait Abbie, now you're agree with the people who thinks the MW2 map pack is overpriced at $15? After all the time you were defending the price of the Stimulus Map Pack? You even said the likes of Bunge released map packs that are priced the same, but from what I heard Halo fans said it cost much less.
