Oh, Valve. In celebration of launching their digital distribution service for games, Steam, on the Mac platform, Valve's offering their much-lauded Portal for free on PC and Mac until May 24.
"Portal used to cost money," reads a hilarious message on Valve's website. "Until May 24th, it's free. End of story. Well, technically speaking, there are some strings attached. Fortunately, they're entirely decorative. We just like the way they look, swaying in the gentle breeze created by a million people simultanously fainting from shock at the news that Portal is free."
Valve quickly gets to the point, a message most people who have played Portal can agree with.
"Now you have no reason not to try Portal."
With the secretive Portal 2 likely to make an appearance next month at E3 in Los Angeles, there's no reason to avoid Portal any longer. Seriously. It's free. How can you go wrong with free? Get on it, man!

Only difference now is that I'll be able to play it on my pc, instead of my 360. I am d/ling it to see anything different, and maybe now I'll be able to get past level 18...For shame, I know. I still haven't been able to see if the cake was a lie yet...

Sometimes I wish I had to put my game disc in to play it. Cause then I'm 99.9% of the time guaranteed it's going to work. But Steam is amazing.
