A brief addendum to the Call of Duty: Black Ops story we posted yesterday: According to publisher Activision, there is a Wii version of the game coming out to join the PS3, 360 and PC versions on November 9.
Treyarch's Call of Duty games have supported Nintendo's console, but blockbuster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 did not have a Wii version, a fact that disapointed literally dozens, if not hundreds, of hardcore gamers who only own a Wii console.
I've always felt it was kind of a shame that Wii shooters haven't lived up to the promise that seems to exist for the Wii. But I don't think it's ever going to happen -- Natal and PlayStation Move will steal the entire FPS shooter + Motion Control market, if there is one.

i have all 3 consoles but i still like the wii MW:reflex anyone can auto-lock or use a tube but i like how you get to aim instead of just a joy stick and so far my wii hasnt fail once compared to the Xbox and my ps3 shut down but i dont know

personally i dont have alot of money to throw around for an xbox or a ps3 because college is more important so when i heard that a wii version of black ops was to be released, i said yes. The previous cod games for wii have not dissapointed me and i look forward to another. also their are a ton of hxc games for wii. resident evil 4, madworld, redsteel 2, all of which i currently own.

I can confirm that there are at least 300 hardcore wii owners out there so far, including myfriends and me, but completely understand the immense amount of problems with the Wii's graphics and hardware in general, but cod: black ops is gunna be awesome!

Even if you may be trying to make a joke, Stephen, it's that kind of thing that really ticks people off. Maybe its just me, but I think that Wii has a very good hardcore market, only that market is mainly based on exclusives. Maybe Treyarch will change my mind and blow me away with this game.

Also: "literally dozens, if not hundreds, of hardcore gamers who only own a Wii console," is not a very unbiased statement. Nor is it very true, considering that over 100,000 people bought Monster hunter 3 in a single week, and how COD Reflex has over 1 million units on it's belt.

As for this, I am most certainly pleased to hear this news, and I will definitely be getting this game. I wonder if it will have customizable killstreaks, sort of like Modern Warfare 2?

If you're bashing the Wii for not having any "hardcore" games, you clearly have never owned or played a Wii or any of the games on the system. Not to mention that Treyarch does an impressive job with Call of Duty on the Wii. I played WaW on the Wii for 7 months and had a great time. I even Prestiged a few times.
Did I mention that both WaW and Reflex have sold over 1,000,000 copies each on the Wii? They were successful. Why NOT make Black Ops for the Wii?!

I have confidence the game will be good on ALL consoles. They don't make their Wii versions crappy. They didn't do too bad with WaW and did much better from that on Reflex.
I have a Wii and a 360, and they are both great. I play Monster Hunter 3 and can't wait for Gears of War 3. I also own COD2 and COD Reflex. That is my case.
Now for all of you nay sayers, do remember that a lot of people own a wii and a lot of them don't just leave it in the dust. That means people will buy it. Treyarch's gonna get money, and with the HD versions sales will be laughing to the bank for a very long time.

ok the wii is cool but not if you want to get down on some COD. also its not going to be the same considering most of the major guys left infinity ward and went to respawn :/

Well..We're (at least, "I'm") still waiting on that GoldenEye 007 update/remake thats supposed to come out this year - "Goldeneye 2010" (for the Wii [only]?) - to be published by Activision.

most of the people who only own the Wii, like me, are to poor to afford the other systems, their games, or buy a whole lot of the better Wii games, that is until a year or so later when you can buy they game for 12 bucks on amazon.
