Got a Burning Question for Landon Donovan? Ask It Here!

Review: 2010 FIFA World Cup

Now that I've recovered from the morning's announcements of the initial World Cup rosters (30 players will be narrowed down to the final 23 before the tournament), I'll be interviewing one of the players expected to represent the US in South Africa next month. Tomorrow afternoon, EA is inviting LA-area gaming media to a motion capture session featuring US midfielder and LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan.

I've got ten minutes to pick his brain about FIFA, motion capture, and whether he thinks Galaxy teammate (and first-time national team call-up) Edson Buddle can make the final squad for South Africa. But I can do that in three or four minutes. I want to feature the best questions from the community. So I'm opening up the mic to you, Feed readers.

I just have one simple rule:

Like Feedback, I want to incorporate your user icons into the final video interview. If you have an icon, I'll be more likely to pick your question.

With that out of the way, who are you picking to win, and why?

And if you're cheering for the US, home jersey or away?

I've already got my away kit -- the "Don't Tread on Me" emblem behind the shield just oozes quality and patriotism! Nike did a nice job.

I didn't pick up the White because, knowing my fumble fingers, I'll be dropping wings and beer all over myself when Landy serves up Edson for our go ahead goal against England in injury time.

But seriously, US finishes second in the group, loses to Brazil in the second round.

    1. USA to win.
    2. Home kits.

Who would you like to face in the Finals?

Once the US beats England and England fails to get out of group play, will you still be welcomed back by Everton or by any of the english teams? :P

Also since you played in England some, how does the England fit so many teams into such a small geographical area?

When will the MLS have it's own soccer game? How badly is the US team going to beat England?

    Landon,

Your form was amazing in Everton and I applaud you for coming back home to LA. The rumor mills are going insane as far as transfers go. As much as I do not want you to leave the Galaxy, seeing you play in the BPL was outstanding due to the talent surrounding you and you matching or exceeding it. Are there any potential teams looking to pick you up this summer? I remember hearing that my Blues (Chelsea) were looking into it awhile back but I wasn't to sure now. Everton would be awesome again as well seeing that they seemed to pick up their form when you joined and kind of teetered when you left lol.

Okay enough kissing your ass... Seriously, Everton or Chelsea?!

What do you make of Theo Walcott? I mean he had that hat trick against Croatia in Zagreb in 08, and his crossing and final balls are perfect. I think he's the most complete player since Pele (Edson Buddle).

Landon why is the U.s team equal or better than "el tri" even though they probably have been playing soccer alot longer than people here?

Landon, when you play with Edson Buddle do you sometimes confuse him with Pele? I know it happens to me a lot, and with people I have talked about this with as well, but I was wondering if his teammates had the same problem. Thanks!

Not really a fan of the new Kits, especially the beauty pageant sash. I'll be sporting the old U.S Kit

    Just two Questions for Landon:
What was it that made you want to take part in the infamous Gana Gol Commercial?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch ?v=A6zsw2rec6Q&feature=rel ated

Is there any chance that you will be returning to play for Everton in the future?

    Only the one question
Landon if the opportunity arose and the US found themselves playing France in the later rounds, would you knock the cheating scumbag Henry out? Now i think your gonna say no but put it this way you'd be a hero, any time you would find yourself in Dublin you'd never pay for a pint and be idolized by us Irish forever, and maybe make a few quid every other year after you hang up your boots punditing for RTE. Waddaya say Landon all it will take is one left hook and a stamp on the neck if you wanted too. Now if you could do the same to Platini and Blatter i'm sure we could swing it to get you elected to President and you'd also help us be able to buy french bread and pastries as the Cork weirdos would hopefully stop peeing on all they can find.
But seriously good luck and remember slap Henry if the opportunity arises

I know Bob Bradley likes his 4-4-2 formations but, what does he think about possibly going five a cross the middle and Dempsey act as an attacking midfielder supporting Davies or Altidore up top. Dempsey has proven himself a capable striker at Fulham FC this year and it could suit the counter-attack style the US played in the games that beat Spain and got them the lead against Brazil.

    ie. Dempsey
    Donavon Holden
    Clark Bradley

Also I'm on the Spanish bandwagon to win it all after their Euro 2008 performance.

I chose the away kit... though i still might buy a home one and write "Ms Congeniality" across the light gray sash.
