Bruce Willis And Jamie Fox Appear On Movie Poster For Kane And Lynch

It still isn’t official official, but all signs, and a recently spotted billboard, point to Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx co-staring in the big screen adaptation of Eidos’ gritty crime franchise, Kane & Lynch.

Empire Magazine snapped the photo during the Cannes Film Festival, which officially kicks off tomorrow. The Willis as Kane and Foxx as Lynch news has been circling for a while now. Back in March, screenwriter Kyle Ward prematurely revealed that Foxx had in fact been cast in the movie, even though no official announcement had been made.

I would be surprised if we didn’t hear something more substantial about the movie at some point during Cannes. Earlier reports  had the movie going into production in August 2010, and based on the poster, the movie should be released next year. The sequel Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days hits PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 August 24.

Yeah all of you guys complaining about the race of a Jamie Foxx to play as Lynch sounds dumb. Everyone is saying how lynch is a crazy ass white boy, but whenever I play the game, all I can think about is Samuel L Jackson from Pulp Fiction!! Because Lynch is a complete rip from that character. I mean lets not forget that Will Smith pulled off a few movies where the character he played was either based off of a white guy, or was supposed to be played by a white guy!! So it's been done before. Not to mention Jaime Foxx is a great actor, why can't he play the role of an on-edge slightly derranged hit man?? Because he's black?? They said the same thing about Denzel Washington playing the dirty cop in Training Day, and he won the oscar for that role. I can understand if it was a character where his race is as big of a part of his character as his pesonality for example a white guy playing Shaft, or a black guy playing Rocky. These were iconic characters, who was represented by race as much as personality. Lynch was crazy...period. So if they could find someone who can pull off crazy, who just so happens to be black, then whats the big deal?? Here's a better question, who do you think would do a better job playing Lynch??

hmm Jamie Foxx is good and all but I don't see him as lynch, heck I was telling my brother this a year or two ago when we played coop on K&L, that I thought if they did a movie that Paul Giamatti would've fitted Lynch almost perfectly especially if you've seen shoot 'em up.

so black man shows up on screen to portray a videogame character and we all become racist bigamists.
    jesus ppl!
wait till the previews roll in to judge it.
i'm not all aboard with jaie foxx's role but who knows, if heath ledger, who portrayed a gay cowboy mind you, played as the baddest of the bad and actually gave people nightmares as the joker then what's jamie foxx capable of?

In the new Marvel comics, namely the ones that were inked after 2001 (I believe), Nick Fury was turned into a bald black dude, so I believe the movie chose to follow that role."

The black Nick Fury came about in the Ultimates universe. He was actually modeled after Samuel Jackson, so the fact that he was used in the new marvel movies as Nick Fury is not that suprising. Not to mention that there was a terrible Nick Fury movie, starring David Hasselhoff, which I am sure they want to distance themselves from. In the original Marvel Universe, Nick Fury is still white.

So the point is, while they changed Nick Fury in the movies to the Ultimates version (a black man), it made sense because of the presedent established in the comics. I think people are having an issue with the race swap of Lynch because in the small amount of established IP history of "Kane & Lynch"(1 released game, and one unreleased game's screenshots) the characters have very defined looks. In video games, a character's look is unfortunately a big part of the character, as we only learn what is shown to us about a character.

I think that if they made a Mario & Luigi movie, and they simply switched Mario's Red with Luigi's green, the fanboys would bitch and moan about that too, and it is a much smaller detail than a character's race.

If you are going to make a movie, "based" on a video game, try and cast people who will do the characters the most justice. This (the subject we are discussing) is an example of casting directors not looking for who fits the role best, but who is an established money maker.

I shouldn't have to say this, but when you guys criticize the casting of Jamie Foxx, could you base it on something other than his skin color?

Okay, seriously? So many people complaining because they changed the race of a charachter for a movie, if the movies written halfway decent, it will be a halfway decent movie, but if i know hollywood, they'll stray so far from the source material it will be unrecognizable. Saying this movie is going to be junk before seeing one iota of it though is pretty rediculous, and saying its gonna be trash because they didn't cast a white guy in the role is even worse, a decent actor is a decent actor, i'd rather have Jaime Foxx than Keanu Reeves or Billy Bob Thorton any day of the week

    Look under Bruce Willis's silhouette...

"From the hit game comes the hit movie!"

Someone is overly confident and practically delusional...

Nick Fury is black in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Everybody got there panties in a bunch about using open cast (Jamie Foxx playing a formally white character). Should I mention Prince of Persia or The Last Airbender or hell, ANY movie with Jesus or Moses in it? Wake up.

Can someone tell me where the black Lynch was in the game? Was there a cheat code or a different version from what I played because I saw two white guys who were stereotypically white. Why must movies screw things like that up?
