The cast for Lionhead Studios’ forthcoming Fable III continues to net acclaimed British actors. The latest addition is Sir Ben Kingsley.
Kingsley confirmed his appearance in the game with Computer and Videogames today, saying, “I’m a voice in a new video game shortly – Fablle III. I’m a wonderful wizard character who is the kind of Mist Peak.”
This might be Kingsley first in-game appearance, but Kingsley is certainly no stranger to the video game world. You might remember him as Kagan in 2005’s adaptation of Bloodrayne, and you can see him in theaters right now in the adaptation of Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This of course begs the question: What is it about games that has resonated so much with Kingsley over the past few years?
“It's very energizing and good for us actors to realize that [acting] is so diverse now. [Games] are as big a jump now as I suppose when cinema was invented, when people went from the stage to the cinema thinking: It's not really acting, is it? Now, it's video games - and it is acting. It's very demanding,” Kingsley said.
Back in March, it was announced that Monty Python’s own John Cleese would be appearing in Fable III as the player’s butler. Cleese and Kingsley will also be joined by well-known British actor Jonathan Ross.
