Pac-Man was the first-ever video game superstar back in the 1980s, but after his brush with super-stardom, Pac has all but disappeared from the popular consciousness except as a footnote or as an ironic aside. Maybe he had drug problems or ego issues, but for whatever reason, seeing the once ubiquitous Pac-Man these days is a little like seeing original TV Batman Adam West signing autographs for five bucks at a comic book convention.
Namco Bandai aims to change all that at E3 this year by celebrating his 30th anniversary and introducing the "next evolution" of Pac-Man! Sound the trumpets!
Namco Bandai urges the game world to prepare themselves for “unreleased titles on console, mobile, arcade, and more” and urgse attendees to “prepare to witness the next evolution.”
I'm prepared, but I wish there was a little more information on what's coming. Like a hint or something. Are they talking about Pac-Man Battle Royale seen in the YouTube video below?
Or is it something we can hardly even imagine. A Pac Man RPG? A Pac Man real-time strategy? Leave your ideas below in the comment section.
