Anyone who was born in the last 30 or so years is pulling for a decent Transformers game. The series has such possibility for an awesome interactive experience, and yet it has never been realized. Transformers: War for Cybertron might buck the trend.
X-Play aired a preview of the game, but we've gone even further, delving deep into the Transformers world with High Moon’s game director Matt Tieger. Tieger and Abbie Heppe discuss the War for Cybertron storyline, the game's mission structure, health system, and more.
"It's very reminiscent of the cartoon, generation one," Tieger says of the game's health system. "Which is our prime touchstone for many of the artistic decisions we made in the game."
Check out the video for a look at a Cybertron boss battle against Trypticon, described as the "biggest, most badass Decepticon."

Apart from Red Dead this is the only other game I'm eager for during the next few months. My hope is that it turns out to be the Transformers equivalent of Batman Arkham Asylum, a well thought out, functional, and above all fun game that blows everyone away.
The Class System is a great idea to make the best feature the game is offering, BUILD YOUR OWN TRANSFORMER, all the better. If that feature and the multiplayer work well then everything else is a gimme at that point.
From that brief video it looks good but I've been burned in the past when it comes to hoping my childhood memories make a good transition into the gaming world of today so for right now I'm cautiously optimistic.

Love the detail they've put into this, but overall it seems like a generic 3rd person shooter (7/10 game).
