Why Medal Of Honor Could Go Where Modern Warfare Didn't (But Probably Won't)

Electronic Arts announced today that the modern day reboot Medal of Honor will be released on October 12 in North America and October 15 in Europe.

The release date was revealed at the end of a sneak peek trailer for the game entitled “Leave a Message,” which is exclusively available for those registered at EA.com until midnight tonight.

“We are proud of this piece because it offers a glimpse into the game we’re creating, while also showing the mindset of these warriors,” said MOH executive producer Greg Goodrich in a statement. “Medal of Honor is an authentic look into today’s war. Inspired by real people and real events, the game puts players in the boots of today’s warrior -- from the infantry ground pounder to the Tier 1 Operator.”

Going with an October release certainly makes sense given that November has typically been Call of Duty month, which it will be this year as well with Call of Duty: Black Ops releasing November 9. And releasing a modern warfare title in a non- Modern Warfare cycle should prove beneficial as well.

Have you seen the teaser trailer yet? What do you think?
