After Countless Delays, Alpha Protocol Goes Gold, Development Finished

We don't typically cover "gone gold" announcements on G4tv.com, but when it's a game that's been as oft-delayed as Obsidian Entertainment's Alpha Protocol, there's reason to take notice.

"Gone gold" means development has ceased and the game is off to mass production.

Alpha Protocol was originally scheduled to be released last fall. Sega wouldn't acknowledge strong rumors the game was being pushed into the spring or summer of 2011 until the release date actually came and went without mention of what was actually going on with the spy-action game.

The game seems to be finally entering the home stretch, however. Look for it on June 1.
