What One Former Infinity Ward Employee Thinks Of Ex-CEO Vince Zampella

Just as Activision gains Bungie Studios, the publisher continues to lose a steady stream of senior developers to Respawn Entertainment, the new startup from the fired leaders of Infinity Ward.

Today brings word four more developers who resigned from Infinity Ward after the widely covered leadership firings have signed onto Respawn, according to recently updated Linkedin profiles.

Keep reading to find out who's the latest to shack up with Respawn.

Former Infinity Ward designers, Preston Glenn, Zied Rieke, Chad Genier and Sean Slayback have all joined Respawn, so sayeth Linkedin. Genier and Rieke were senior and lead designers, respectively.

Slayback actually worked at Treyarch, prior to joining Infinity Ward. He completed design work on Call of Duty: World at War and joined Infinity Ward for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The total number of developers who have left Infinity Ward for Respawn is now at 16.

Respawn was formed by ex-Infinity Ward leadership Vince Zampella and Jason West. Both were fired from Infinity Ward in March. Just weeks ago, the duo announced a publishing deal with Electronic Arts for their new studio, Respawn. The outfit doesn't have a project yet and while EA will fund the new game, Respawn own the rights to it. Ironically, it's similar to Bungie's deal with Activision.

This is for Respawn, a freind and i have quite a few games you might take interest in. Mostly the first person shooter, we have one in the brainstorming phase that will add a whole new side to FPS's.They said follow your passion and ours is coming up with new games or ways to improve others.

I'm maintaining a list of ex-Infinity Ward employees and Respawn hires. I have been getting information from a couple of reliable sources who wish to remain anonymous.

    http://www.cynicalsmirk.com/ who_remains_at_infinity_ward.h tml

I have the number of Respawn employees at 18, not including West and Zampella.

The other two being Charlie Wiederhold and Brad Allen.

Wiederhold may not have officially announced but his LinkedIn profile says, "...host migrating... ...respawning..." I'm fairly certain that is a pun filled reference to him moving to Respawn. Also My sources have also not corrected me about this.

My sources also told me that Allen made his announcement of joining Respawn on his Facebook account.

im kind of getting sick of all these controversies over call of duty and infinity ward and treyarch and all that stuff.
i just wish some other company would come along and make another great FPS like Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 so that we could all move along.

Dang, when I heard the other day 26 left IW I figured more would go to Respawn. So I'm taking it the count for employees that left IW to be at 30?

I'm hoping that somehow Respawn will be able to snatch back the call of duty franchise rather than let some other company (Treyarch) take control. At this point, only the former Infinity Ward members know how to make good Call of Duty games.

i really wanna know the truth of why this mess had to happen. Did W&Z really get fired becoz they're shopping around and lobbying IW or is it really because Activ want to avoid royalties payment.

So, we have the developers of the two most iconic console FPS's of recent times, working alongside two huge rival publishers on brand new IPs that they will have complete control over?

    You have my interest.
