Obsidian's upcoming PS3, PC and 360 game Alpha Protocol is an RPG without elves, dragons or swords -- amazing, right? Instead of Middle Earth trappings, the game features the cool cats and gadgets of the world of international espionage. Andrew Pfister has been playing a pre-release build of the game, and here's what he has to say:
I’ve been playing a beefy preview version of the game for the last few nights, and after not really having seen it since E3 two years ago, there was a lot to wrap my head around. If you must use a template for mental comparison, you’d be best off with using Mass Effect 2 Alpha Protocol is similarly mission-based, with an emphasis on investigating the threads of an overarching plot, and a combination of shooting things/sneaking around things/using tech and skills to disable things.

Its funny cause I had the whole ting paid off back in October when it was due to come out originally. Still have the required $5 deposit down on it but I used the rest of the money on other games.
So sadly its going to be a while before I can finally pic this one up unless I by some chance win that Gamestop gift card sweepstakes they have every month.
sigh
Well at least a publisher finally gave Obsidian time to finish a game, think what KOTOR 2 could have been if given time then.

I dont know about this game. It looks pretty cool but it also looks like it could be pretty bad. I'll be reading plenty of reviews, thats for sure.
