The Monster Hunter series, while wildly popular in Japan, haven't quite caught on in the West. Maybe it's because it's hard to find any random folks on the bus who have PSPs, let alone a PSP with Monster Hunter? With Monster Hunter Tri, Capcom is bringing the action somewhere that you'll likely find people to play alongside: the Wii. Scott Alan Marriott spent lots of time leveling up his warrior, hunting big beasties, and making big steaks out of them. Here are some of his observations:
"Monster Hunter Tri's large-scale creatures and exotic environments instill a sense of awe and wonder while you play, which is perhaps the franchise's most alluring trait. The barebones storyline, heavy emphasis on resource gathering, and similarly themed quests may alienate traditional role-playing fans, but its singular focus is precisely what makes this title stand out from others in the genre."

This game rocks. I loved the psp version but I do enjoy being able to go online like the very first Monster Hunter game to come out to the US. I hope it continues with more console games. I love the psp games but that is so true that's it's hard to find someone that plays.
