Designer David Jaffe enjoys talking fairly openly about his next project (as openly as he can for an unannounced video game, anyway) for Sony and the rumors of a new Twisted Metal continue.
Jaffe recently Twitter commented on a list of alleged E3 reveals that included a game called Twisted Metal: Harbor City. "There is NOTHING on this list that we are making or have ANYTHING to do with," he said, adding that "it would suck if Sony had someone else making a Twisted Metal."
He did concede, however, that maybe he's just not in the loop.
"I guess someone else could be making it [Twisted Metal] tho," he said. "Imagine I woulda heard but I'm not [an official] Sony [employee] anymore tho."
The Eat Sleep Play co-founder said work continues on his new project for Sony, but implied the hidden game won't see a reveal at E3, as he won't be attending the show in an official capacity.
"If my game would be at E3," he said, "I would be there."
Jaffe "hopes" to attend at least one day of E3, but if he's unable to make it, I can't criticize his current plans to watch E3 from a distance, which include "the press conferences playing on G4."
Good man, Jaffe. Good man.

If anything will get me to go get a PS3 it would either be a remake of Final Fantasy 7, or a new Twisted Metal game. My bet is the second one is more likely, and hopefully this is all just a hoax to throw people off.

a new twisted metal would be a good game.

God Damn Jaffe! You are killing me! What is the next game for god sakes!? I like Jaffe but he is really starting to piss me off. I was really wanting a new Twisted Metal on the PS3. He really takes your hopes away after giving you hope. What could be the other game anyways? Starhawk? or a new series? I was really hoping to see my favorite clown in HD ultra PS3 graphics.

@spicypooptastic, I see Twisted Metal as a console mover. I really enjoyed playing those games when I was younger, and I'd be hard pressed to pass up a new, next gen Twisted Metal if it was dark and creepy like Twisted Metal Black.

Is twisted metal really worth reimaging for the next gen consoles?
I mean the old ones where ok at best and I don't think would translate well this gen.

Could someone remind me why we still care about Jaffe?

I have a feeling that this is gonna be a big e3. Halo Reach,Gears 3, Resistance 3, Assassins Creed Brotherhood (the apparent name of the MP game), infamous 2, arkum asylum 2, Madden 11, and of course the long awaited "Project Natal"

Don't Worry Folks,
David Jaffe only makes button mashers and destructible car games, It's not hard to see which one comes next.

I honestly don't even know what to make of this anymore. If they weren't making a new Twisted Metal game then why has he been so cryptic about it every time somebodies asked him over the past several years. Furthermore, why now, is he all of sudden coming out and saying this when he could of a long time ago and saved a lot of people headaches. I think I'm just gonna wait until theirs some official word before I look into this game anymore.

They really should change their name to Eat, Sleep, Complain, Troll, Cry.

It would be awefully messed up if Jeffe and gang killed off Twisted Metal since they announced they will be making one for the PS3.. Wasn't that 2 or 3 years ago?
Either way, it is disappointing they have not released one yet. Even more if they decided to kill off the series after making promises to everyone that they will make one.

I think Jaffe's just trying to thow people off so they'll be surprised by the official announcement. So many details have slipped that make it seem like Eat Sleep Play is definitely working on a new Twisted Metal. I don't see why Eat Sleep Play's new game would still be a secret at this point if it wasn't a new entry in a huge series. If it was a new property it wouldn't hurt to announce the title, because it wouldn't be giving anything away. I'm also pretty sure that even though Jaffe isn't officially a Sony employee anymore, he'd know if another team was working on a new Twisted Metal game.
Either way, with the teaser ad that came out forever ago, and the new Sweet Tooth action figure coming out this summer, I think a new Twisted Metal will be shown at E3 and I'd be really surprised if Eat Sleep Play wasn't behind it.
