Like the mighty salmon migration in Nature, the annual return of the Madden franchise to gaming resonates throughout the gaming kingdom. Love it or hate it, the franchise continues to return. Reading up on our First Look, you've probably seen the keywords "Simpler. Quicker. Deeper." Today, EA has released three new Madden NFL 11 videos to explain those words even further.

What is new EA? Please tell me what is so revolutionary? I'm guessing its like all the other games. You say that its revolutionary and when we get the game is nothing but the same old thing with updated graphics and updated rosters. I am through buying EA's bull, they have released the same game since like 08, with some very minor changes, and they expect me to drop 60 bucks for it? That is not happening anymore, I will not pay full price for a roster update, I am still playing 09 and I will probably do what I did to get 10, and that is go through my retail connection and get it for like 30 bucks, oh and screw you EA, I am counting the days to where the NFL wises up and goes back to letting everyone make a NFL game that way I can buy a real football game from 2K.

I feel like I've heard this before. Oh yes. Every year. Every year they claim there's so much innovation it's like a defensive tackle crammed into the kicker's uniform. Every year they revolutionize the game to the point that it adds new problems and doesn't address the old ones. Is anything this year going to be as "revolutionary" as the vision cone from a few years back? I mean, everyone felt that was the most awesome thing ever, right? Have they bothered to add in the functionality and depth to franchise mode that they left out when "upgrading" to the current gen systems? G4 has no problem feeding the hype- I mean, Madden 09 got a 5/5 review, while Madden 10 got a 4/5, but the number isn't what's important. The first sentence of the review for Madden 10, which the reviewer didn't think was perfect was "The perennial king of the gridiron is back and better than ever." Better than EVER. I'm sure this year's will be better than ever too.
Madden 10 was the first of the series that I didn't buy, because I'm a slow learner and it took me too many years to realize I can be disappointed for way less than 60 bucks.

Make every football game before it obsolete? Hmm. That sounds like Backbreaker, to me...

bah, I haven't played a madden game in years. Not since the PS2, but I forgot that in the 360/PS3 age we have online play. I think I might give it a try this year... Or when does their monopoly end and 2K can throw their hat in the ring?

Drop the price and actually add something new and I might reconsider my boycott.

Sounds interesting, however, I haven't bought a madden game brand new in about 4 years and I doubt I'll get this one. If it were priced at $39.99 I would probably get it but not for $59.99.

Simpler, quicker, deeper... sounds like a bad porno.

As a Madden veteran I feel like this game will be the exact same as last year in terms of exploits and what have you. I really hope backbreaker does very well to in turn pressure those over at EA Sports to actually make a better game and not one that's half-assed.

Maybe...

Wait, we are still talking about a video game about football, right?
