Trion Worlds' upcoming MMO-RTS End of Nations has big ambitions -- how often do you have to invent a new genre for a game release? -- but does the game's reach exceed its grasp? Can up to 50 people really participate in a single battle in an RTS? G4's Tom Price got an early look at the title, and says...
"Mixing the gameplay rules of two divergent genres may seem strange to some gamers, but maybe the real-time strategy genre is long overdue for a rethinking like it gets in End of Nations. The prospect of playing an action-oriented RTS with so many friends is a very appealing one nonetheless, and if End of Nations can provide a satisfying experience for strategy gamers while engaging people long term the way MMOs are capable of, then maybe the MMORTS moniker wont seem so weird anymore."

I hope they pay attention to games like Saga Online, Beyond Protocol and Star Alliances and try to fix what doesn't work in those games. MMORTS has been around for awhile and there is plenty to learn from the games before it.

haha i keep seeing things to comment about...
i wonder if the controller of those humvees are phasing them out (like you could in C&C3) or if that was the giant battleship, cause if it was a power the controller can upgrade to, that provides huge tactical advantages
agains, im pumped to see more about this.

idont like the fact that there is no infintry, but i guess a lone soldier isnt going to do much against the "battleship on wheels"

Should I laugh or cry? Its just a game but the world really is that fragile. Toss in a global "natural" disaster, a virus or tyrannical leader with power & thats exactly what would happen. But the scariest part & most realistic is that the earths resources truly are running out. People must either make more breakthroughs in science/technology on an unprecedented scale. Or face mass annihilation

Go Petroglyph, Go Petroglyph, it's your birthday, it's your birthday. Man I look forward to this strategy game and I'm glad they wanna risk adding in a whole new world, live online worlds. I'm so going "dungeon crawling" with my tank lol.
